🌍 Pakistan Association of the Blind Celebrates International White Cane Safety Day 2025 🎉

On 15th October 2025, the Pakistan Association of the Blind (PAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Branch, organized a one-day awareness session in celebration of International White Cane Safety Day at Peshawar.

The Honourable Deputy Secretary, Social Welfare, Special Education and Women Empowerment Department graced the event as Chief Guest, while the Assistant Commissioner Peshawar and other distinguished guests also attended.

During the program, a Sipasnama was presented, highlighting the significance of the white cane as a global symbol of independence and dignity for visually impaired persons. It also emphasized the need for inclusive policies, accessibility, and employment opportunities for persons with visual disabilities.

Approximately 450 visually impaired persons and their families participated in the event. At the conclusion, MP3 devices, talking watches, and white canes were distributed among participants, followed by lunch boxes served to all attendees.

Let’s continue raising awareness for inclusion, accessibility, and empowerment of persons with visual impairment.

✨ Empowering Independence ✨

Thanks to the support of PAB National, white canes imported from China have been distributed among the 10 district branches of PAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with each branch receiving between 30 to 70 canes according to their needs.

On 15 October 2025, as part of White Cane Safety Day, PAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will proudly distribute over 200 white canes to visually impaired persons at its Provincial Headquarters, Peshawar.

Together, we are building a brighter, more independent future for the visually impaired community. ♿🤍

پی اے بی نیشنل کی فراہم کردہ سفید چھڑیاں جو چین سے منگوائی گئی تھیں پی اے بی خیبر پختونخوا نے اپنے 10 ضلعی شاخوں کو ان کی تعداد کے تناسب سے کم از کم 30 اور زیادہ سے زیادہ 70 سفید چھڑیاں تقسیم کیں اور وائیٹ کین سیفٹی ڈے کے پروگرام میں 15 اکتوبر 2025 کو پی اے بی خیبر پختونخوا کے صوبائی ہیڈ کوارٹر پشاور میں تقریباً 200 سے زائد نابینا افراد میں سفید چھڑیاں تقسیم کی جائیں گی

**📢 Event Highlights: Distribution of Winter Essentials for Visually Impaired Students**

On **20th December 2024**, the **Pakistan Association of the Blind (PAB)**, in collaboration with the **Government Institute for Visually Impaired Children (Boys), Peshawar**, organized a heartwarming event to support visually impaired students in need.

The event took place at the **Government Institute for Visually Impaired Children (Boys), Peshawar**, where **winter clothing** was distributed among the deserving visually impaired students. This initiative aimed to ensure that these students stay warm and comfortable during the harsh winter months.
