NEPRA has approved a Rs1.89 per unit reduction in electricity tariffs for the April–June 2025 quarter, offering major relief to power consumers across Pakistan. This move is expected to reduce the national power burden by Rs55.87 billion. The tariff cut will be applicable from August to October 2025, subject to federal approval. However, lifeline and prepaid meter users are not included in this benefit. The decision followed public hearings and requests by distribution companies.
