1. What is ISO?
ISO means International Organization for Standardization.
It’s a global organization that makes standards for products, services, and systems.
The goal is to make things safe, good quality, and the same everywhere.
Example: Credit card size, bottled water quality, or rules for keeping data safe — all can be set by ISO standards.
2. What is ISO 27001?
It’s a standard for information security — keeping data safe.
It helps a company create a system to protect data from hacking, leaks, or unauthorized access.
This system is called ISMS (Information Security Management System).
3. Why do we use ISO 27001?
To protect data (e.g., customer records, money data, secret plans)
To reduce security risks (hacking, viruses, insider fraud)
To follow the law (e.g., privacy regulations)
To gain customer trust (certification shows you are secure)
Business advantage (some companies work only with ISO 27001-certified partners)
