TLP Sets Up Camp in Muridke After Violent Clashes in Lahore
Police dig trenches, roads sealed, dozens injured across Punjab.
**🚨 Chaos on the Road to Islamabad: TLP’s Protest Turns Violent**
What began as a march of “solidarity with Palestinians” by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has turned into a full-blown standoff. Hundreds of TLP workers spent the night camped in **Muridke**, determined to push toward Islamabad — despite road trenches, police barricades, and tear gas.
Earlier in **Lahore’s Shahdara**, clashes between police and protesters left **dozens injured**, with both sides blaming each other for the violence. The TLP claims their workers were killed, while police say **over 100 officers have been wounded** and public property damaged.
In **Karachi**, police arrested several TLP activists trying to demonstrate at the Press Club, while **Punjab Police** accused the group of creating chaos under the guise of religion.
“Peace has returned to Gaza,” their statement read. “Why is TLP disturbing peace in Pakistan?”
Meanwhile, life in **Islamabad and Rawalpindi** has come to a standstill — with roads sealed, mobile networks down, and traffic crawling for hours. Containers block major intersections, leaving commuters and students stranded, including those traveling for exams.
Despite the government’s repeated warnings, TLP insists their movement is peaceful and solely to express solidarity with Gaza. But as the night deepens in Muridke, tensions rise — and the road to Islamabad remains uncertain.
