Pakistan has launched a Rs10 billion project to modernise air traffic systems at Karachi and Lahore airports, marking a major upgrade to the country’s aviation infrastructure.

Under the Pakistan Airports Authority project, Jinnah International Airport in Karachi and Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore will receive modern air traffic management and voice communication systems. Their air traffic control centres will also be upgraded.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that electricity loadshedding should not exceed two hours in any area across Pakistan.
