The Ramadan moon has been sighted across Pakistan, including Lahore and Peshawar. Consequently, the first day of fasting will commence tomorrow.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will make formal announcement shortly.

Earlier, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, led by Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, convened in Peshawar to determine the sighting of the crescent moon for Ramadan.

Gathered at the Awqaf Hall on Charsadda Road, committee members, along with representatives from the Meteorological Department, SPARCO, and the Ministry of Science and Technology, engaged in discussions to determine the sighting of the Ramadan moon.

It is pertinent here to mention that while the Ramadan moon has been sighted in Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia, marking the commencement of fasting, East Asian and Oceania states await the first sighting, with fasting scheduled to begin on March 12.

Mission to provide timely and quality facilities to the pilgrims next year, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has started the advance preparations for the Hajj arrangements.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has decided to call for Hajj applications in October or November. Applications will be called on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications for Hajj 2023 were called for in February and March.

The purpose of requesting applications in advance is to complete the Hajj arrangements in time. By taking applications 7 months in advance, it will be possible to get quality accommodation for the pilgrims. By booking in advance, you will be able to get the cheapest and nearest residential buildings, also in Mina, Makkah and Madinah. The nearest accommodation can be booked.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has already obtained the Hajj quota for Pakistan from the Saudi government. Under the quota, 179,000 Pakistanis will be able to perform Hajj in 2024. This year, due to late requests, there were difficulties in the arrangements. This year due to several reasons. Pakistan had to return the quota of 20 thousand pilgrims.

Despite the ECC directing the concerned authorities to stop the smuggling and hoarding of sugar, the public could not get any relief and the price of sugar increased further.

According to the details, the ban on the export of sugar in Karachi, like the rest of the country, was blown up by the sugar mafia. In the wholesale market, sugar rose by Rs 7 per kg in a day and touched the highest level of Rs 171.

According to dealers, sugar has become expensive in the wholesale commodity market by the Hour, the retail price of sugar for the public has reached a record level of 180 rupees.

It should be remembered that the price of sugar per kg has increased by about 20 rupees since August 1 due to stock speculation.

In view of the implementation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreement, petrol is likely to be expensive by Rs 10 and diesel by Rs 15 per liter.

The IMF's first economic review is preceded by a tough test for the caretaker government. The caretaker finance minister is in favor of full implementation of the IMF program due to which there is a fear of further increase in electricity and petrol prices instead of relief.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Finance has also assured the IMF to collect 250 billion by stopping electricity theft, while the plan to collect electricity bills from consumers in installments has also been shared with the IMF.

It should be noted that a total increase of 87 rupees has been recorded in the value of the dollar against the Pakistani currency during one year. Due to depreciation of rupee during PDM government period, loans have increased by 9300 billion.

The Pakistani rupee has set a new record low against the US dollar.

According to currency dealers, the dollar crossed Rs 305 for the first time in history after the dollar increased by another rupee 30 paise in the inter-bank exchange. The dollar is trading at Rs 305.75 in Interbank.

On the other hand, the dollar became more expensive by 3 rupees in the open market today, the dollar touched the historical level of 325 rupees in the open currency market.

It should be remembered that in the 3 weeks of the caretaker government, the dollar has become more expensive by Rs 30 in the open market and by more than Rs 16 in the interbank market.

Bad News has come for Karachi electricity consumers. It has been decided to impose a surcharge of 1 rupee 52 paise per unit for electric consumers.

The hearing is going on in NEPRA regarding the application related to the surcharge of the federal government. Nepra will take the final decision regarding approval after the hearing.

Bills and additional surcharges for electricity consumers of Karachi will be for one year. 24 billion 50 crore additional burden will be imposed on K-electric consumers due to additional surcharge.

The value of the US dollar has surged against the Pakistani rupee in the interbank exchange, causing concerns for the local economy.

At the beginning of the business week, the US dollar recorded a notable gain of one rupee against the rupee, solidifying its upward trajectory.

This development comes on the heels of a previous increase, where on the final day of the prior week, the US dollar had strengthened by 89 paise against the rupee in the interbank exchange.

Justice (r) Maqbool Baqar has been nominated as the eighth caretaker chief minister of Sindh.

After thorough deliberations between the Sindh Chief Minister and the opposition leader, the MQM Coordination Committee has reached a consensus on the nomination of Justice Retired Maqbool Baqar.

Justice Maqbool Baqar is a retired judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He was born on April 5, 1957, in Karachi, Pakistan. He received his LL.B. degree from the University of Karachi in 1979.

Justice Baqar began his legal career as an advocate in the Sindh High Court in 1980. He served as a judge of the Sindh High Court from 2002 to 2015.

In 2015, he was elevated to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Justice Baqar retired from the Supreme Court on April 4, 2022. He is currently a visiting professor at the University of Karachi.

The dollar became expensive in the interbank Market; the value of the Pakistani rupee fell by 29 paise.

According to dealers, the US dollar became 29 paise more expensive against the Pakistani rupee in the interbank market, after which its rate came down to 287 rupees 75 paise.

According to the State Bank, the rate of the US dollar decreased by 45 paise yesterday.

Sharing your screen during a video call is no longer headache-inducing, at least not if you're using FaceTime and, soon, WhatsApp.

"We're adding the ability to share your screen during a video call on WhatsApp," Mark Zuckerberg, Meta founder and CEO, announced the new feature in a Facebook post with a photo.

The feature was first explored in late May when it became available to Android beta testers. Though it's unclear when the feature will be widely available for all WhatsApp users, the new post by Zuckerberg hints it could be sooner than later.

As noted during beta testing, the screen-sharing feature would be available during a call by tapping a button on the call control view. The user trying to share their screen will then be prompted to allow permission to WhatsApp to record, display, and share the contents of their screen with the recipient.

WhatsApp video calls, in turn, are available to any device with access to the app and an internet connection across Android and iOS. Adding the screen-sharing feature to WhatsApp would reach the app's more than 2.4 billion monthly users and could become essential for the workplace in countries where it's the most used messaging application, like India.

Apart from Raja Riaz and Noor Alam Khan, they include Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Nighat Orakzai, Wajiha Qamar, Sardar Riaz Mehmood Khan Mazari, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Nawab Sher, Makhdoomzada Syed Basit Ahmad Sultan, Afzal Khan Dhandla, Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar Wattoo, Aamir Talal Gopang and, Ahmad Hussain Dahar.

The action comes as most of these leaders publicly announced their dissociation from the party through press conferences or video messages following incidents that occurred on May 9.

The notice of termination states, “Therefore, you are served with this notice of termination of your basic membership from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Your membership has been terminated effective immediately.”
