PIMS Hospital Tragedy Raises Serious Questions Over Possible Negligence
A devastating fire at the PIMS Hospital nursery in Islamabad has reportedly claimed the lives of multiple newborn babies, raising serious questions about fire safety, emergency response and the management of the neonatal unit.
There are allegations that the nursery may have been locked from the outside when the fire broke out, while witnesses have also raised questions about whether doctors and other relevant medical professionals were present at the time of the incident.
These claims have not yet been independently verified and require a transparent investigation by the authorities.
What is beyond dispute is that newborn children lost their lives inside a hospital where they were supposed to be safest. If negligence, inadequate staffing, locked exits or failures in emergency response are established, those responsible must be held accountable.
