In order to help ease Pakistan’s funding crunch and consequent risk of default, Qatar is expected to give Islamabad funds worth $2 billion in bilateral support, Bloomberg reported Monday. Ahead of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) board meeting scheduled to be held on August 29, Pakistan has secured financing worth $4 billion from friendly countries — which was a prerequisite to reviving the stalled Fund programme....

According to a notification issued by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), the cabinet has authorized Air Sial for international flights to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Iraq, and Iran. The above-mentioned routes are subject to the legal and regulatory requirements of the PCAA and the National Aviation Policy 2019, which includes a condition to have a minimum of five airworthy purchased or dry leased planes....
