I remember the day when I first came here
I adored the place from the first sight
And was happy that my coming here was right

وہ پہلا دن جب میں یہاں آیا، مجھے اب بھی یاد ہے،پہلی ہی نظر میں اس جگہ نے میرے دل کو موہ لیا تھا،اور مجھے خوشی تھی کہ میرا یہاں آنے کا فیصلہ بالکل درست تھا۔اے ایبٹ آباد! اب ہم تجھے الوداع کہہ رہے ہیں،تیرے اس حسنِ بیاں اور قدرتی جمال کو میرا سلام۔شاید اب تیری ہواؤں کی سرسراہٹ کبھی میرے کانوں تک نہ پہنچے،میرے پاس تیرے لیے تحفے میں بس چند اداس آنسو ہیں۔میں ایک بھاری اور بوجھل دل کے ساتھ تجھے الوداع کہتا ہوں،تیری یادیں کبھی بھی میرے ذہن کے ماتھے سے مٹ نہ پائیں گی۔
