إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

It is hard to believe that our village has lost such a bright scout and active Youth, Mumtaz Ali, son of Fursat Ali.

Mumtaz 17 years old and a student of 2nd year from Zood Khun. He drowned in the lake near Yishkuk. After some struggle, he was rescued and managed to survive for a while, but sadly, he passed away on the way to Sost in a private vehicle.

The tragedy was made worse by the fact that there was no ambulance available in Chipurson Valley. The only ambulance had been shifted to Sost on the orders of the DHO Hunza. Without proper ambulance with medical equipment and oxygen cost his young life.

Mumtaz’s death is not an accident. It is the result of DHO’s negligence.

The Aga Khan Health Centre in Resh*t is nothing but a name They cannot handle emergencies, and this too needs action.
Another big failure is the lack of basic medical knowledge sessions, like CPR, in a valley as remote as Chapurson.
The 10-bed hospital at Kirmin has been “under construction” for years. Because of government neglect, people are forced to pay the price with their lives.
___________

May Allah grant Mumtaz’s soul eternal peace, and may He give strength to his family in this very hard time. (Ameen)
