In an ongoing crackdown to uncover Isr@eli esp!onage networks, Iranian law enforcement detained two Afghan nationals accused of planning a b0mb att@ck on the state broadcaster (IRIB) and spying on senior government officials on behalf of Isr@el’s Moss@d agency.
According to Iranian authorities, the suspects confessed to their cr!mes in a video released by the government. The individuals admitted to providing sensitive data on key Iranian figures to Isr@eli intelligence, with the intent to facilitate targeted ass@ssinations and att@cks on critical infrastructure.
Investigations revealed that the suspects were reportedly transmitting classified information, relating to high-ranking Iranian officials via WhatsApp to Isr@eli agents based in Germany. Mossad paid them $2,000 for each task.
They were apprehended after Iranian authorities raided their hideout in western Tehran, as reported by Tasnim News Agency.
Officials added that the accused had leaked the coordinates of the IRIB building and details of a senior government official's residence in Tehran’s Saadat Abad district.
