The history of Palestine region from 1918 to 2023 is marked with the footprints of the colonial powers, and their policies towards the Arab region. The Jewish settlers from the European countries who faced persecution at hands of the Christians and were on the move throughout the 2000 years, were looking for a place to settle and few of them found solace in Palestine. After the Balfour declaration, the British government made sure to allow immigration to mass number of Jews from the European countries to the Palestinian land. These people started developing their own armies and their own settlements. However, the process gained a lot of boost once the Second World War broke and the N**i powers persecuted huge number of Jews. The number of Jews in Palestine increased drastically. Although the British did reportedly try to stop this mass immigration. In 1947 the British were aware that they Cant control the situation any further. Therefore they decided that the matter be resolved by a UN resolution. In 1948, such a UN resolution was passed. But it was not before the Jews made sure that they clean up a huge area from Muslims and almost 250,000 Muslims had to flee their homes to a safer place. never to be returned to their homes again. The United Nations resolution came as a disappointment to the Muslims since 55% of the area of Palestine was gifted to the Jews, although they were very low in population as compared to the Muslims who constituted 90% at the start of the 20th century. In 1948 war broke out between Israel and five Arab countries. This war lasted for a year and it resulted in favour of Israel, who now controlled more areas of the Palestine, and almost 7,000,000 Palestinians were displaced and they had to take refuge in the camps. The next war took place in 1967 famously known as 6 days war in which Israel not only gained all of the Palestine, but some of the part of Egypt as well. Egypt subsequently brokered, a peace deal with Israel and hard-liners did not like the move and killed President Anwar Sadat as a consequence. Destination of the Egyptian president was not The only assassination rather an Israeli President was also murdered, who brokered a deal with P-LO, which allowed control to the Palestinians in a very basic way. Sad aspect of the situation was that the West Bank, which was an area designated for Palestinians also saw rise in the Israeli settlements which were termed as illegal by the international community. the settlements have grown to an extent that they cannot be removed. Therefore, there is no area known as Palastine for the Palestinians, except the Gaza Strip, which is now controlled by the Hamas group. Hamas is a group which defected from PLO, terming it to be too secular and compromising and they have been waging armed conflict with the Israeli ever since suffering blockade. There has been a civil war among the Hamas in PLO as well which clearly shows that there is not a consensus of opinion amongst the two groups as to how the struggle against the Israeli has to take please. However, in doing so, the most important aspect has to be kept in mind that the strongest opponent of the Israel are the Jews themselves. Who declared the Jewish state to be against the will of God
