Usta Muhammad Union of Journalists, issued a formal statement today addressing the ongoing sit-in on Jinnah Road and the subsequent social media campaign directed at Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ramzan Palal.
For the past two days, Jinnah Road has been paralyzed by a sit-in staged by individuals protesting an alleged lack of rations. While the Union of Journalists respects the fundamental right to protest, Mr. Jamali categorized this specific movement as a calculated agenda driven by a "ration-eating mafia" intended to blackmail administrative officers and bypass merit-based distribution systems.
Noor Ahmed Jamali strongly defended the performance of the district administration, particularly highlighting the efforts of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ramzan Palal.
Merit-Based Governance: Since taking office, Palal has prioritized merit and immediate problem-solving over political favoritism.
Water Crisis Resolution: The administration took decisive action to provide clean water to neighborhoods where residents previously had to carry pots for miles.
Educational Progress: Work has finally resumed on the Girls College building, a project that had been stalled for eight years prior to the current administration's intervention.
"It is a misfortune that a dynamic and talented officer is being targeted with negative propaganda, rather than following the transparent procedures established for the public good," stated Jamali.
Union of Journalists urged the "conscious citizens" of Usta Muhammad to see through this political theater. He challenged the protesters to show the same "moral courage" by questioning their elected representatives about the lack of development plaques and crumbling infrastructure in the constituency.
The Usta Muhammad Union of Journalists stands against the use of social media for character assassination and calls for the community to support officers who are actively working to resolve the long standing issues.
