: JOURNALISTS' LIVES AT STAKE IN SINDH.
The Usta Muhammad Union of Journalists (Workers), led by its Patron-in-Chief Noor Ahmed Jamali , has issued a scathing condemnation following the brutal shooting and murder of Syed Muhammad Shah, a reporter for Abbtak News and former president of Garhi Khairo Press Club. Shah was gunned down by unknown armed men in Tehsil Garhi Khairo, District Jacobabad, Sindh, in a shocking act that has sent ripples of fear and outrage through the journalistic community.
In response to this heinous crime,Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (Workers) has unequivocally demanded immediate and decisive action from the authorities. A forceful message has been conveyed to the IG Police Sindh and SSP Jacobabad Saddam Hussain Khaskheli, urging them to Immediately arrest the culprits responsible for the murder of Syed Muhammad Shah, Ensure swift justice for the slain journalist and his grieving family. and provide exemplary punishment to the fanatic perpetrators of this barbaric act.
The PFUJ (Workers) has warned that a failure to meet these demands will result in a nationwide protest, signaling the collective resolve of journalists across Pakistan to stand against impunity and protect their colleagues.
This tragic incident underscores the escalating dangers faced by journalists in Sindh, a province that has consistently been highlighted as one of the most perilous regions for media professionals in Pakistan. The repeated attacks and killings of journalists, often with perpetrators escaping justice, create an environment of fear and self-censorship, severely undermining press freedom and the public's right to information.
The journalistic fraternity implores the Sindh Police and all relevant law enforcement agencies to prioritize this case, deploy all necessary resources, and bring the killers of Syed Muhammad Shah to book without delay.
