4-Day International School on Algebraic Geometry — Participation Highlights

I had the privilege of attending the 4-Day International School on Algebraic Geometry, held from 18–21 November 2025 at the Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences (ASSMS), GC University Lahore.

The theme of this School was:
“New Trends in Computational Algebraic Geometry and Its Applications.”

Over these four days, the school brought together students, researchers, and mathematicians from across Pakistan and abroad. The learning environment was rich, diverse, and deeply inspiring.

🌍 Distinguished International Presence

We had the honor of learning from internationally renowned experts, including:

Prof. Gerhard Pfister – Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany
Prof. Ignacio Luengo Velasco – Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain
Prof. Sheng Bau – South Africa

Their lectures and discussions provided valuable insights into modern computational methods and emerging directions in algebraic geometry.

It was also a proud moment to see
Dr. Muhammad Imran Qureshi, COMSATS University Islamabad, Vehari Campus,
participating as an invited speaker and contributing to the academic sessions.

💫 A Personal Highlight

One of the most meaningful memories for me was experiencing a rare moment where four academic generations stood together in one frame —
myself, my mentor Dr. Nasir Ali, his mentor Dr. Muhammad Imran Qureshi, and his mentor Prof. Gerhard Pfister.
Such moments are priceless and reflect the true beauty of academic lineage.

کچھ لمحے انسان کی پوری زندگی کا خلاصہ بن جاتے ہیں…
میرے ساتھ بھی ایسا ہی ایک یادگار لمحہ پیش آیا۔

لیکن یہ صرف تصویر نہیں… بلکہ علم کی وہ سنہری زنجیر ہے جو نسلوں کو جوڑتی ہے۔

میرے لیے یہ لمحہ صرف خوشی نہیں—
بلکہ ایک نعمت، شرف، اور بے حد فخر کی بات ہے۔

الحمدللہ، آج احساس ہوا کہ استاد صرف درس نہیں دیتے…
وہ روشنی، کردار، علم اور نسلیں بناتے ہیں۔
یہ تصویر میرے تعلیمی سفر کی سب سے قیمتی یاد بن کر ہمیشہ میرے ساتھ رہے گی۔

Painting Competition under NAB | Character Building Society, COMSATS Vehari 🎨

Alhamdulillah! As of the Character Building Society (CBS), I had the honor to organize a Painting Competition under the collaboration of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) at Comsats University Vehari - CU.

The event aimed to promote integrity, creativity, and accountability through the language of art. 🖌️✨
Students beautifully expressed their thoughts and values on canvas — turning ideas into colors of inspiration.

We were privileged to have Dr. Muhammad Imran Qureshi and Ms. Nazia Suleman as honorable judges for evaluation, and express special gratitude to our Convener Mr. Farhad Mubashir for his constant guidance and support. 🙌

Grateful to all participants, volunteers, and the organizing team for making this event a success. 💫

کبھی کبھی آپ کسی کے پاس بیٹھے ہوتے ہو،
اور لمحہ اتنا خاموش مگر معنی خیز ہوتا ہے
کہ دل جیسے خود سے باتیں کرنے لگتا ہے۔

ایسا محسوس ہوتا ہے کہ تمہارے سارے سوال،
جن کے جواب تم خود سے تلاش کرتے رہے،
آج بنا کہے مل گئے ہوں۔

تب سمجھ آتا ہے —
کہ اصل سمجھ تنہائی نہیں دیتی،
بلکہ وہ “محفل” دیتی ہے جہاں بیٹھ کر تم خود کو پا لیتے ہو۔ 🌿

کبھی کبھی لگتا ہے،
کچھ لوگ باتوں میں گھمانے کا نہیں،
بلکہ احساس میں لپیٹنے کا ہنر رکھتے ہیں۔
ان کی بات صاف بھی لگتی ہے
اور پھر بھی اپنے اندر کچھ چھپا لیتی ہے —
جیسے معنی الفاظ سے نہیں،
دل کے بہاؤ سے نکلتے ہوں۔

سمجھ تو آ جاتی ہے ہر بات،
پر محسوس ہونے میں وقت لگتا ہے۔
اور تب کہیں جا کر خیال آتا ہے —
یہ محض بات نہیں تھی،
کسی لکھنے والے دل کا جملہ تھا۔ ✍️

اکتوبر کی پہلی بارش 🌧️✨

رات کے دو بج کر تئیس منٹ ہو چکے تھے۔ کمرے میں مدھم پیلی روشنی پھیلی ہوئی تھی۔
ڈیسک پر رکھا لیپ ٹاپ مسلسل چل رہا تھا، اور اس کی روشنی میں دیواروں پر ہلکی سی چمک تھی۔
میں پچھلے کئی گھنٹوں سے لکھ رہا تھا — اپنی یونیورسٹی کے دنوں کی یادیں، کامیابیاں، ناکامیاں، وہ لمحے جو وقت کی گرد میں دب تو گئے، مگر دل سے کبھی نہ مٹے۔

اس رات میں صرف یادیں نہیں لکھ رہا تھا۔
میں اپنے تجربات، اپنی Extra-Curricular Activities، اپنی زندگی کی سیکھ کو بھی صفحے پر اتار رہا تھا —
وہ سب جو نصاب سے ہٹ کر سکھایا گیا، وہ سب جو صرف زندگی نے سمجھایا۔
یہ میری کہانی تھی،
Experiences,
Life Lessons,
and Learnings
beyond studies.

ہر پیراگراف کے ساتھ ایک نیا منظر ذہن میں ابھرتا۔
کبھی وہ ہال یاد آتا جہاں میں نے پہلی بار ایک ایونٹ ہوسٹ کیا تھا،
کبھی وہ شام جب ٹیم کے ساتھ بیٹھے ہم نے اپنے خوابوں پر بات کی تھی۔
کبھی کسی استاد کی نصیحت گونجتی، تو کبھی دوستوں کی ہنسی کانوں میں رس گھولتی۔
یوں لگتا جیسے میں وقت کے پنوں پر واپس چل رہا ہوں —
جہاں ہر صفحے پر ایک چہرہ، ایک لمحہ، ایک یاد ثبت ہے۔

لیکن پھر اچانک، ایک عجیب سی خاموشی چھا گئی۔
میں نے انگلیوں کو رُکنے دیا، اسکرین کی طرف دیکھا، اور ایک لمبی سانس لی۔

سوچا، اب کافی ہے۔ کام وہیں روک دیتا ہوں۔
آج کے لیے اتنا کافی ہے۔
ویسے بھی اگلی صبح یونیورسٹی جانا تھا —
اور یہ تو ویک اینڈ کی رات تھی۔

میں نے آہستگی سے لیپ ٹاپ بند کیا۔
کمرہ یکدم خاموش ہو گیا۔
صرف پنکھے کی ہلکی سی آواز باقی تھی، مگر پھر اس کے ساتھ ہی ایک اور آواز شامل ہو گئی —
بارش کی۔

میں نے چونک کر کھڑکی کی طرف دیکھا۔
قطرے آہستہ آہستہ شیشے سے ٹکرا رہے تھے۔
پہلے نرم، پھر مسلسل۔
مٹی کی خوشبو ہوا کے ساتھ اندر آئی — وہی مخصوص خوشبو جو صرف پہلی بارش میں محسوس ہوتی ہے۔
دل کو جیسے ایک عجیب سا سکون چھو گیا۔

“اکتوبر کی پہلی بارش…” میں نے خود سے سرگوشی کی۔
شاید کچھ چیزیں ہمیشہ ایک ساتھ واپس آتی ہیں —
یادیں، خاموش راتیں، اور بارش۔

میں صوفے پر بیٹھا ہوا، ٹیک لگائی، اور کھڑکی کے پار دیکھنے لگا۔
باہر اندھیرا تھا، مگر بوندیں چمک رہی تھی۔
بارش بڑھ گئی تھی، مگر دل ہلکا ہو گیا تھا۔

اس لمحے مجھے لگا جیسے زندگی خود کہہ رہی ہو:
“تم نے بہت کچھ حاصل کیا ہے…
اب تھوڑا رُک جاؤ،
سانس لو،
محسوس کرو،
اور یاد کرو۔”

میں خاموشی سے مسکرا دیا۔
رات اپنے اختتام کی طرف بڑھ رہی تھی،
اور میں ایک نئے دن، ایک نئی صبح،
اور شاید ایک نئی یاد کے انتظار میں تھا۔
