I discovered the mind-body connection when I was 35. 🧠
Not because someone told me—but because I experienced it.

Probably even if someone had, I wouldn’t have believed them back then.

Only after a marathon of hospital visits did I start to realize how powerful the mind really is.

Then I stumbled upon Gabor Maté—a doctor with years of experience in family clinics and palliative care. He writes about mind-body connection and points out the link between sickness and emotions.

Even though I find his book hard to read (maybe because of the style, or maybe the stories he shares), I’m really glad he is bringing this out widely.

If we had more doctors who treated us as a whole, and tried to get to the root causes instead of just treating symptoms—maybe we wouldn’t struggle so much.

And maybe we wouldn’t be left searching for the truth on our own.

A bad decision is better than no decision.

I first heard this in the movie Touching the Void ⛰ where the main character falls into a glacier crevasse with a broken leg.

Unable to climb out, he decides to lower himself deeper into the black abyss——simply because doing nothing meant certain death.

It shocked me. His determination, yes—but also the idea that making a bad decision is ok.

I was taught that mistakes are bad. But only years later did I realize: fearing mistakes keeps you stuck. You don’t learn. You don’t move. You can’t correct anything if you stay frozen. ❌

In The Diary Of A CEO, former CIA agent Evy Poumpouras said something similar: in a crisis, one of their tactics is to just keep moving. Even if you don’t know the direction. Movement gives you information. Standing still gives you nothing.

Mistakes help you adjust. That’s how you move forward.

Have you ever thought about opting out?

You feel that something is off, but can’t quite name what’s scratching at you. đŸ€·â€â™€ïž

Or maybe you do know.

You know what’s no longer serving you, but you've been conditioned to believe "this is just how life is"—by habits, the system, society, family.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Nadia Denise Duinker, founder of Freedom Ville Portugal , and her family about their bold decision to turn their life around and move to .

7.5 months pregnant, she packed up and moved to rebuild the abandoned village of Malhadil from scratch. đŸ•ïžđŸŒł

What struck me wasn’t just Nadia’s deep knowledge, self-awareness, or TED-worthy storytelling— It was the way she lives her message. How she reminds us, simply by doing, that change is possible.

If you’re looking for inspiration—or just want to see a different path, outside the system—this story is worth listening to.

Behind every decision, there’s a story—and a person. đŸ‘€

So what makes someone sign up for a yoga teacher training course?

A personal struggle, a chance encounter, the right words from the right person
or maybe a quiet need that was already there, just waiting to be named.

This year, I graduated from a 200-hour Yoga Alliance TTC at Yoga Academy PoznaƄ alongside an incredible group of people.

Some of them—like Iryna Zakharkiv Aleksandra Szultka, Sviatlana Pankavec —shared their personal journeys to help you understand what makes someone become a yoga teacher. đŸ§˜â€â™€ïž

If you're curious about what leads to such a decision, you can read our stories here: https://www.wolskytales.com/become-yoga-teacher-stories/

Have you ever thought about what it really means to live off-grid? 🛖🌿

In one of the The Diary Of A CEO a former CIA agent Andrew Bustamante spoke about how governments maintain control—not just through laws, but through the systems we rely on every day.

That got me thinking:
- What happens when the power goes out, as it recently did in Portugal?
- Or what if you suddenly lost internet connection?

If you’re like me—working mostly online—you realize quickly how dependent we’ve become. We don’t grow our own food, we don’t generate our own electricity, we’re not set up to provide for ourselves.

Convenience has replaced self-sufficiency. 😰

But some people are making a different choice.

đŸ‘©â€đŸŒŸ Like Nadia Denise Duinker, who—seven months pregnant—sold everything in Amsterdam and bought the ruins of a small village in Portugal. She and her family wanted a life closer to nature, more aligned with their values.

Together, they’ve turned that abandoned space into Freedom Ville Portugal : a boutique retreat focused on healing, connection, and sustainability. 🌿✹

đŸŽ„ Inspired by their story, Szymon and I traveled to Portugal to explore what’s really behind it.

The full documentary is still in the works, but we’ve already gathered some reflections we’d like to share.

This isn’t just a story about going off-grid.
It’s about taking a step back and asking:

âžĄïž If everything stopped working tomorrow—what would you rebuild?
And more importantly,
âžĄïžWould you rebuild it the same way
or make it reflect your values?

I have a trick for you when you really don’t want to do something.đŸ€

You’d like to go exercise, but you feel soooo tired. Your brain is whispering: “Not today.”
And honestly, it sounds tempting—probably true: You are tired.

Here’s what I’ve learned: waiting until you want to do it can be a never-ending story (or a story that never even begins).

So I lie to my mind. I say, “Okay, I won’t go.”
=inner debate over. ❌

BUT: I still prepare.

I’m not going, but I put on my sportswear.
I’m not going, but I am taking my mat.
I’m not going, but I lace up my shoes and get in the car. 😀

Next thing I know, I’m at yoga class doing one series of Ashtanga in Yoga Friends PoznaƄ Jarochowskiego 8 - przy Arenie

Because the real fight isn’t the whole practice. It’s just the beginning. Your brain only battles that first step—so don’t fight back.

Agree 😄 and then get moving!

What are you collecting?

Views from every corner of the world?
Moments with the ones you love?

Or
things—stuff to surround yourself with, hoping they’ll make you feel safe?💎

We didn’t exactly plan or budget for this trip.
Our house still needs furniture, and let’s be honest—there’s a lot left to do.

But we chose to figure it out
 and go.

That’s when I realized how much we could do—bartering, using our skills, pulling together what we had—
and somehow, Portugal became possible. đŸ‡”đŸ‡č

Sure, traveling 3000 km from Poland wasn’t cheap.
(We just chose memories over money. 😅)

Because the truth is, we don’t know where the wind will carry us in the end.
And we want to make the most of every moment we have together ❀

PS Many shots are from Praia do Guincho—because sightseeing with a child who chases pigeons isn’t exactly easy.
So if anyone asks me what I saw in Lisbon
I have to say: pigeons. đŸ•ŠïžđŸ˜…
