“Lua” is a piece about a little dog who, during a snowstorm, got caught under the wheels of a postal van. It’s a story about my friendship with this tiny animal, but also about my friendship with Jacek Sienkiewicz.

Tomasz Sroczyński is known as a violinist, but he has also made a name for himself as a creator unafraid to explore both folk melodies and electronic music. We can confidently say that, on one hand, he fits into the broad contemporary definition of a classical music composer (albeit of the modern kind), while on the other, he is no stranger to experimentation and stepping outside the traditional classical comfort zone. He is also known for his work in modern jazz (with his own trio and the acclaimed Marek Pospieszalski Octet). His album “Ajulella” was released on Recognition in 2018 to critical acclaim and his "A Girl With No Heart" (2013) - a mind-melting fusion of house, folk, cabaret…

We were glad to receive Recognition’s V.A. in commemoration of their anniversary. The pioneering Polish label turned 25 this year and celebrates with a delicious compilation featuring most of the artists that are part of their catalogue. Started in 1999, they’ve stood apart due to their focus not only in dance music but also in elaborations of its morphing and infinite edges.
