Thank you to everyone who joined us for Mission: Revision!
Your energy, questions, and willingness to tackle tricky drafts made the operation a total success. 🕵️✍️

Whether you came with a half-written essay or just a highlighter and hope - we saw the effort, and we hope you walked away with tools (and confidence) to finish strong.

Stay sharp, stay curious, and remember two things:
Every great paper starts with a messy draft and a bold revision plan.
Reduction is the best revision.

“Think of the greatest movies of all time, and you will hardly name one that’s all peaches and cream. Most of them are full of hardship and misery. Even when it comes to musicians, we can easily find many who have built their entire repertoires around the topics of moral dilemmas and difficult experiences. Look no further than Billie Eilish or Lana del Rey. Struggles are the soundtrack to everybody’s life.”

Tired of the same old “…and they lived happily ever after?” Check out Hanna’s article, “Why Do We Love to Suffer,” which sheds some light on why we, tired and overworked as we are, still need that extra bit of hardship in our lives. ☔️

“You’ve probably noticed it yourself – Żabka stores are everywhere. Sometimes they’re right across the street from each other, and new ones seem to appear out of thin air.”

Over these past few years, it seems that wherever you turn, the familiar urban scenery of endless traffic, swarms of busy pedestrians and walls of brightly lit office windows has been further enhanced by the neon green logos of Żabka stores. If you’re curious about how the rapid expansion of our answer to 7-Eleven connects to the concept of white noise, check out Dominika’s text on the topic. 🐸

"A soft murmur coming out of the TV. It was mesmerizing. In that moment I felt like I could watch the screen for hours, listening to its peculiar melody. But at the same time, I could not banish one thought from my mind: “I shouldn’t be seeing this.”

If you find yourself overwhelmed by contemporary media, Julia Kozłowska might have some answers for you. Check out her illuminating piece on I Saw the TV Glow to discover how the film uses the aesthetics and rhetoric of white noise to not only honor the traditions of the modern horror genre, but also to offer insight into the distinctions between reality and fiction! 📺💡
