Before my Dad met my Mum, he had a hunch and bought a painting, believing his son will look like the kid pictured. He was right.

My Mum loved it, and she boasts about the painting often.

My Mum is Indonesian, so I was raised with influence from her culture, and a sprinkle of Islam’s influence too. I was taught to be hospitable, kind and God-fearing. My Mum exemplified that. She is the kindest person, yet I made her cry a lot growing up. I hung out with questionable company and was very stubborn, yet she remain patient throughout.

To provide for us, she works as a cleaner now in a condo, and was formerly a kitchen staff.

As I grew up, I became more open to her point of view and we share a very close relationship now. I tell her “I love you” often in person and over text

Brayen’s Mum: My best memory is taking him to different places, watching him grow and cooking for him. When he was hospitalized in IMH due to mental health challenges, I cried and prayed often. I was very worried but kept the faith. I hugged and told him I loved him. I brought him food almost everyday.

Now, I’m glad he’s better. I’m so glad

Brayen: I’m thankful for this opportunity to bless my Mum with a pair of sunglasses, which we got 1 for 1. She’s been wanting a pair for a while now, and she loves it. She deserves it. The service staff at Lenskart where very kind and hospitable to us.

We are working with on a campaign to share their buy 1 get 1 promotion. Am glad to back them as I believe in the integrity and competence of the brand. They are big no storytelling, inclusivity and being game changers in the market, wholly congruent with our brand values.

She has been with me for 16 years, and treats me like her daughter. She would quietly “spy” on the boys that pick me up and “report” back to my Mum. When I was overseas for study, she would often ask how I’m doing and I did miss her cooking a lot. Till now, she wakes me up for non-work morning appointments, and has to be patient with me caving back into bed.

Asked to Cita: “What is your favorite thing about Claudie”?

She is very kind and gentle. From young till now, no change. Sometimes, she gets me gifts and appreciates me. I always think of her, even now I come back earlier from my Sunday break sometimes to check on her. Not all my (helper) friends are close to their employers, but I am. I am happy to be here

Claudie: “We are appreciative of the gift from Lenskart to my helper and me– We used the one for one promotion. X has been wanting a progressive lens and I got a blu light for reduced glare from my work. The service staff was friendly and patience and we are happy with the quality!”

They put great effort to providing quality lens at affordable cost. Do check out their branches and consider integrating your purchase with a gift from someone you appreciate :)

Some people are sick of me juxtaposing my milestones against my past mania. Some label me an attention seeker, using my mental health to “milk” fame and sympathy.

I do not give a singular f*ck.

I do it NOT for the spectators who throw stones, whose cynical heart shall never know victory or defeat.

I do it FOR the ones who are in the arena, who fight battles no one knows about. I do it for the bullied ignored kid at school, for the worried housewife who cries silent tears at night, for the depressed individual who genuinely thinks there is no way out.

I do it for all of you. To show you that it is possible.

It is possible to go from a solitary, forlorn and ravaged figure crying alone in a car and finalizing his demise…

To standing before a crowd, leading and hosting major event, within 2 weeks from idea to ex*****on. One with public figures and influencers I used to be intimidated by and envy.

Yet, it is also only possible because of support.

Most of all, from .pitstart whom showed so much interest in growing my brand, that I caved to my stubbornness and erroneous belief in full control, gave him equity in RK, and he took it to the next level with me.

For volunteers who reached out last minute to help me plan, shoot and video the event with sincere hearts and earnestness.

For creators I invited (whom I have tagged), who have showed me support in tiny and big ways. Many of them have larger followings, some less, but ALL sincere and humble in heart. If not, I would never have connected with them.

For participants, who extended patience to me for hiccups and delays, amongst some loyal supporters who have followed me from the beginning (Cont’d & Completed in comments)

2am, Christmas Day. I sit and type this alone from a 5 Star Hotel Room in Osaka. I’m on a sponsored trip worth ~$7k. I am grateful. But between the intricate rides, the bright neon signs and the alluring outfits & make up, I am lonely.

For my heart lies at home. It has, and it always will.

From 18-28, I’ve never travelled on a holiday. Partly a misplaced extreme on hustle, but partly cuz I don’t feel the need to. I love my country and my people. And I feel at home.

Sometimes, people mischaracterize me. Understandably, they watch snippets and think this is for show…a farce, a cringe act, a means to a selfish end. I don’t blame them, but I don’t deny it hurts (only slightly)

It hurts only slightly, because in pales vastly in comparison to the gratitude and love I’ve been blessed with.

This Christmas marks the 1-year anniversary of RK. And what I’ve experienced and felt this past year is simply beyond words.

I can only…humbly bow my head in prayer and say “Thank You.”

I bow my head to all of you, and say “Thank you”.

From the bottom of my heart and depths of my soul, Thank You.

Thank you for giving me the privilege to serve, thank you for the support and kind words, thank you giving my idiosyncrasy a chance.

And most of all, thank you for building this platform with me and blessing lives together.

I do not take a single ounce of it for granted. And we will continue spreading Radical Kindness.

I love and appreciate all of you deeply. More than you’ll ever know.

Merry Christmas💚

Attended a mental health event organized by in line with EMCCs new campaign.

Established panelists , Jonathan Kuek, MP Dr Wan Rizal and counsellor Thomas Tsang shared a range of insights from legislature, to culture and generational differences

Here are 3 insights I found useful

1. Not everyone has same level of interest or understanding in mental health issues. This is true for any kind of advocacy work. We tend to make the assumption that people SHOULD care about it because we think it’s important. It helps to recognize people have different experiences, empathize, relate and meet them where they’re at. In other words, persuade from their value system.

2. Social Stigma & Culture

Race, culture and religion have a deep-rooted impact on mental health perceptions and stigma. Dr Wan mentioned that in the Muslim community, parents may turn to exorcism as a first line of treatment. From personal experience working with youth, Chinese parents may perceive mental health as a form of karma or “bad luck”. Overall, our Asian culture also dictates the importance of “face”, or public image. This could deter help seeking and foster nonchalance disguised as denial or shame.

One solution is to bridge the gap in communities and work out a middle ground, in line with point 1. We can empathize and dispel myths, and recognize the importance of spirituality adjacent to scientific and psychological means of treatment. (Cont’d in comments)

I’m overjoyed to announce our book launch/social cause event in collaboration with Scape!

(Link in bio to sign up!) Check out the highlights in the flyer! Thanks to .plus for being part of this too. More booths on the way!

Last birthday, I wrote out my suicidal notes and was ready to post it. A year on, I celebrate my 30th by writing a book and giving back. Radical Kindness begun with a simple goal to save myself, but it evolved to a movement and a cause that would raise and give away >$100k in 7 months, and impact and save others’ lives

This is only possible because of all your support.

Life’s greatest gift is the ability to give. Thus, I receive the greatest gift by writing this book for you. It is an intimate look into mental health and overcoming, as well as 30 Practical Life Principles to improve your social, emotional, spiritual and financial state. Excerpts and Preorders are open at a discount (link in bio). I firmly believe it will help you and if not, I will give a full refund.

See you all at the event!💚
