"Noise Waste 18" at Klubojadalnia Młodsza Siostra

Warsaw, Poland

"Noise Waste," a long-standing series of noise events managed and curated by one of the pioneers of Polish (harsh) noise music - Bartek Kalinka (aka XVP or XV Parowek) since the mid-2000s.

A really well-organized and engaging noise event held at a renowned venue featured longtimers as well as relative newcomers.

Bartek Kalinka opened the evening with a densely layered, varied set, with hints of harsh noise, fluttering oscillations, and a hard-panned cut-up maze of swirling, abrasive sounds. A very good performance, quite different from his usual output.

Jan Marek Kamiński player second, his set started with very minimal, crunchy sound which continued to unfold and develop with time. Not quite harsh noise per se, but a complex maze of glitches, oscillations and high-pitched squeaks. An immersive and dense performance.

Dedkarz/Jedras - a very complex performance. Overblown, crumbling electronics with (presumably) improvised drumming. Absolutely intense, gripping and interesting. The only issue - a bit too long - it's always better to leave the audience wanting

more than to repeat yourselves. Other than that - a good performance.

Dawid Kowalik - a visceral, immersive set - both visually and sonically. It's not just music, it's a full, complete audioo-visual experience which makes you *feel* the sonds (physically) while the sparse, stroboscopic lights only added to the intensity of the performance. Beyond amazing.

As 2025 is behind us, here's some info on our plans for 2026, but first allow us to summarize 2025:

2025:
- We organized two events - one at a public location with our own, self-powered PA and a much larger pro-event which is hopefully going to become an annual thing.
- We funded a reissue of Tourette's "Eroboros" on LP, albeit the production process took way longer than expected (closing in on 6 months now). If you paid for a preorder - rest assured your copies will be sent out first as soon as we receive the final product.
- We started working on a website/webstore.
- We failed to finish up the planned "Haus of Sleep Periodical" - a pro-printed, fringe art magazine.

Plans for 2026:
- Registering HoS as a foundation to be able to apply for grants and make financial settlements easier.
- Finishing our website.
- Launching live podcasts again, however in a much more professional manner.
- Putting out another LP.
- Organizing a few more live shows at undisclosed public locations, plus, hopefully, another large event.
- Putting together and releasing the magazine by the end of the year or in early 2027.

The movie "Pogłos" ("Reverberation") is an audio art documentary. It consists of five parts, each part introduces a different audio performance, that took place in one of the suburban locations in Silesia, Poland. The concerts (without public) were performed in locations of unknown status, which had an interesting natural reverberation or were able to add some context to the sounds produced on the spot. Unwanted noise, banished from the city, could reverberate loud and clear in these places. The aim of the project was to look for new contexts for marginal sounds; the five segments of the movie tell the story of man dealing with the territory. The noise made by the artists became a metaphor of human's inferference with the environment.
Everything was recorded on locations on cameras and portable recorders. There was no additional audio/video recording in the postproduction process. The concerts were pretty loud.

A long overdue entry on the first 'big' Haus of Sleep event titled "Second Father," which happened last month at in Warsaw. Took months of planning, preparations, meetings, communication, and coordination. masterfully handled the meetings and massive organizational duties, while and I coordinated transfers and accommodation for our international guests.

The event went very well, albeit there's plenty of room for improvement.

Excellent lectures and live performances. Interestingly, many people traveled from abroad (Germany, Czechia, among others) to attend the event, which we consider a success.

At this point, we know that organizing such events requires many more people, as we could barely keep up.

Either way. Excellent lectures by Marcin Żółtowski, Maciej Ożóg, and Łukasz Szałankiewicz, as well as live performances by Dystopian Control, gamma.function, Maciej Ożóg, Crank Sturgeon, Like Weeds, Kazumoto Endo, and Tourette.

Tourette LPs coming soon, sincere apologies for the delay.

Thank you for being with us. We appreciated seeing all the old friends as well as new faces.

We hope that this is just the beginning of a series of events, but who knows.

Now onto other Haus of Sleep endeavors!

Klein abandoned the brush, replacing it with the human body as a living tool. In his Anthropometries, naked models covered in ultramarine blue pressed themselves against the canvas under his direction, turning art into ritual, painting into performance. The artist himself did not touch the surface – he orchestrated from a distance, reducing the act of painting to a spectacle. What remains is both presence and absence: traces of bodies without bodies, identity reduced to imprint, to stain. Klein dismantles authorship and gesture, transforming painting into documentation of an event, not an object.

DNA Festival to wydarzenie, na które składają się koncerty muzyki współczesnej z pogranicza gatunków Drone, Noise, Ambient.
Kod DNA pełni rolę nośnika informacji genetycznej organizmów żywych, natomiast w naszym projekcie skrót DNA pełni rolę nośnika informacji muzycznej.

Podczas listopadowego spotkania wystąpi min. Kazumoto Endo. Od połowy lat 90. japoński artysta noise’owy Kazumoto Endo wydaje albumy i EP-ki pod własnym nazwiskiem oraz pseudonimem Killer Bug w wytwórniach noise’owych w kilku krajach. Dorastając w latach 80., Endo słuchał brytyjskich zespołów, takich jak The Cure i The Smiths, a następnie zainteresował się grupami takimi jak P***y Galore i Big Black i zaczął uczęszczać na koncerty wpływowych zespołów noise’owych, w tym Hanatarash i Hijokaidan. Endo nie był jednak pod wrażeniem tego, jak muzyka noise brzmiała na nagraniach.
