Mornings can be a battlefield where a banana peeled from the wrong end becomes a major drama. When you’re dealing with a child's emotions from the very first minute of the day and already organizing your work to-do list in your head, you have every right to feel overwhelmed ✨

Mature parenting is not about pretending we are robots who don't feel exhaustion. It’s about finding tools that help us and our child get through these morning and afternoon storms with more calm. Instead of starting the day with tension, you can bring some soothing routine into your home 🤍

Holidays and official dates pass, but the daily, quiet work of every mother continues without a break. This post is dedicated to you – for all those ordinary days when you give your all, even if you feel like no one notices ✨

In today's carousel we look at motherhood without a filter. Mature parenting is not about a lack of stumbles or a perfectly clean house. It is about your daily efforts: every attempt to manage your own emotions, every tender hug after a difficult moment, and the readiness to learn about your child anew. You are the best mother for your little one even when you feel exhausted and helpless 🤍

Take the pressure of being perfect off yourself. Your authentic presence and love are the most important foundation for your child 🌸

Save this post as a supportive reminder for moments when doubts catch up with you about whether you are doing enough.

Which words from today's carousel did you need to hear the most today?

Evening bedtime can be difficult not only for your child, but also for you as a parent.
Because when the day has been long and you're already dreaming of just a moment of silence, every next "mom..." can trigger frustration.

And your child often doesn't do it on purpose. They simply can't always transition on their own from play, conversation, emotions and stimuli to sleep.
That's why an evening ritual can really make a big difference.
It doesn't have to be complicated. It doesn't have to last an hour. It doesn't have to require more energy from the parent.

Sometimes a calm story, dimmed lights and repetition – which signals to your child that the day is ending and it's time to rest – is enough.
Audio stories "Peaceful Sleep" were created to support children in this transition from arousal to calm.

In May you can download the app and try it for 7 days for free. Download Open Tales.

It’s not anger. It’s a need. 🔴➡️💚

When your child explodes, they aren't being "bad". They simply don’t have the tools yet to name what they are feeling. Behind every scream lies a deep need – perhaps it’s fear, overstimulation, or just plain exhaustion. A young nervous system doesn't have words for inner chaos yet; it only has a body that reacts with an explosion.

This is where therapeutic tales come in. When a child hears about a character who feels exactly the same way, they learn that emotions can be tamed. Instead of screaming, they begin to understand the mechanisms happening inside them. Mature parenting is about giving a child time and the right tools so that one day they can calmly say: "I'm angry because...". That one sentence changes the entire dynamics of your daily life.

The "Mastering Anger" series at Open Tales is a safe guide to big emotions in a small body.

Does it actually work? 🎧

93% of parents confirm: the change is radical and visible within just a few days.

Do you know why? Because the audio format works differently than the methods you’ve tried before. It doesn't rely on punishment, shouting, or logical arguments that don't reach a child during intense emotional moments. A tale is a safe space where the character experiences exactly what your child does - and shows how to handle it ✨

While listening, the child's brain rests and simultaneously absorbs new patterns: how to regain calm, how to feel safe, and how to name their own states. This isn't another lesson. It’s gentle support that feels like a bedtime hug 🤍

Not exactly. 💔

Parenting can be beautiful, moving and deeply meaningful, but it can also be exhausting, loud, chaotic and full of moments when you barely recognize yourself.

Because you can love your child more than anything in the world and still feel that sometimes you are running out of patience, calm and space for your own emotions.

And that does not mean you are a bad parent.

It means you are human too.

That is why in Open Tales you will find not only audiostories for children, but also audio sessions for moms who need a moment of silence, calm and support in everyday tension.

In May, you can download the app and try it free for 7 days.

Sometimes, as parents, we only see the outburst.

The crying, the shouting, the thrown toy, the bedtime struggle, the huge reaction to something that may seem small from an adult’s perspective.

But underneath that behaviour, there often isn’t “bad behaviour”.

There is tension, tiredness, overstimulation, fear, frustration, or a need for closeness that a child cannot yet name.

A young child cannot always say:

“This is too much for me.”
“I need help.”
“I don’t know what’s happening to me.”
“I want to calm down, but I don’t know how.”

That is why calm, repeated experiences are so important. They help children understand their emotions without judgment or shame.

A therapeutic story can be one of those experiences.

It gives a child a story they can recognise themselves in, feel safe with, and see that difficult emotions can be worked through.

It does not replace a parent’s presence.
But it can support those moments when it is hard to find the right words.

Your parents were not bad people. They simply grew up in times when no one talked about emotions, no one explained that crying is okay, and that anger often has a deeper source than just “bad behaviour”.

They received what they had been given themselves. And they passed on what they knew.

Today, we have something they did not have: knowledge, tools and the awareness that a child’s emotions deserve attention, not silencing. Swipe through and see what words you may have heard in childhood, and how you can change that for your child today.

Our therapeutic audiostories are exactly the kind of resource an entire generation was missing.

You clench your teeth, because you promised yourself that this time it would be different. That you would keep your calm, that you wouldn't raise your voice, that you would simply move past that moment with grace. And then something snaps and once again you find yourself in the same place as yesterday, with the same guilt and the same resolution for tomorrow.

Emotional regulation is a skill that no one ever taught us. Not us, and not our children.
But it is never too late to begin. Our therapeutic audio stories help children build this skill from the earliest years of their lives, so that they don't have to learn it only as adults.

But for parents, we have support too - check it out and subscribe to help the whole family ❤️
