Good news is Lily is getting on so much better with Loki, they spend quite a bit of time cuddling & play fighting too 😻😻

Happy Monday everybody!! ☺️

Well, the weather has finally cooled and gave us a fantastic lighting display last night, along with some very welcomed and much needed rain.⛈️⛈️

The video clip is actually from our friends Niluka Koetje & Gerardus Koetje (living in Portugal ) who live in a neighbouring village with a fantastic view towards our village - perfect for showcasing the lightning!!
We are due a week if cooler & wetter weather which we are all looking forward to.

I would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who messaged us regarding Max.
It's still a bit raw, but knowing how supportive you have all been has really helped.

We've had a bit of a rubbish week so far - hence no posts.

Things happen that just do not fit into the picture perfect images that many only want their followers to see.....
Most of you will know that Nick has a pretty horrible infection in his elbow, that has resulted in two hospital visits & a truck load of medication - thankfully, that seems to be improving.
Our Staffy, Gilmore, has had eight seizures over two days & nights, which is always scary for us but he does have a brain tumor to deal with and he is on medication to help with the seizures - his last one was a month ago so we just hope it was a little hiccup in his general wellbeing.

Now we have Max.
We are really worried about him as he was off his food for a couple of days & he wouldn't let me near him but then I noticed a bit of blood near his bum.

The vet has just left us and the prognosis isn't looking good.

At the moment, both Nick & I are feeling really shocked with how quickly Max has been affected - we don't really know what the vet's going to come back to us with, but hopefully we will get some information tomorrow.

Well there definitely seems to be a colour theme regarding our fruit & veg this year!!
Azul tomatoes, purple pepper & aubergine (egg plant 😉) along with passion fruit and more blackberries to pick too, I think we're going to get plenty of polyphenols 😋

Tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes!!

Well, this has definitely proven the wicking bed system is a winner!!
We have tomatoes growing really well & no blossom end rot, so a fantastic result.

I am now in the process of cooking a vat of tomatoes to turn into a rich passata sauce & I will be straining the pulp, seeds & skin to put into the dehydrator to make an intensely tomatoey powder!! 😋😋

Happy Monday everybody!!

Another fantastic haul of blackberries - and still loads more to come!!
After the success of the blackberry & clotted cream ice cream 😋😋 I need to hear everyone's favourite thing to do with blackberries - otherwise I may have to get another freezer!! 🤣
