Hey everyone! We’re back — for the third time in a row — at Nomad Island Fest, organised by The Nomad Escape in Madeira.

Tomorrow, we’re swapping cars for a red carpet. Expect beautiful people, a glam opening ceremony — and officially kicking off the fifth edition of Nomad Island Fest.

This year the event is bigger and fancier than ever. We’ll have amazing speakers like Ken Honda, NasDaily, Daurish Saudi, Hannah Nixon, Silvia Baena, Michelle Maree and many more joining us.

Having a pet is something we often have to sacrifice while traveling. Although Nomad Magazine is extremely pet-travel-friendly, we wish the rules were far more supportive of taking our small kids on an adventure.

But some travelers, like Mia Kercher, choose to disregard these limitations and explore countries with her best friend, Cleo, the cat.

This year, Nomad Magazine was invited to join the jury for the Nomad Summit Scholarship and select one of the three winners—someone who will receive a free ticket, free accommodation, and mentorship to start their digital nomad journey.

Every candidate was strong, full of good vibes, and genuinely motivated to contribute to the global nomad community. But one person stood out to me on a very personal level.

His story reminded me of where I was ten years ago—trying to break into what many see as a “privileged” lifestyle. But when you come from a country where this path isn’t easily accessible, becoming a nomad isn’t privilege. It’s a decision. It’s sacrifice. It’s hard work.

And that’s exactly why this scholarship can be a golden ticket—helping someone step out of the cave, see what’s possible, and meet a community that can open new doors.

Our winner is 25, from India. He used to be lawyer who left his legal career to transition into AI automation. He’s building AI agents, workflows, and systems for clients, right at the start of his location-independent journey.
What he needs now is the right environment, connections, and mentorship—and we believe Nomad Summit is exactly that place.

His name is Yash Sharma!
