Vilamoura Pro-Am returns for a second edition in 2026 at Els Club Vilamoura

The Vilamoura Pro-Am made its debut this year, from February 10-14, bringing together 84 players from 17 countries to compete on three of the Algarve’s most iconic courses. Professional and amateur golfers not only participated in the competition but also enjoyed a variety of “energising evening entertainment and prize-giving” events.

Englishman Dan Smith claimed victory at the Optilink Tour Championship in Lagos, at Palmares Ocean Living & Golf Resort this Thursday, February 27, defeating Algarve-native Tomás Melo Gouveia – who had been leading in the previous rounds – in a sudden-death playoff on the 10th hole after both finished tied at -10.

Algarve-native Tomás Melo Gouveia finished yesterday (Wednesday, February 26) with 9 strokes under par at the Palmares Ocean Living & Golf Resort in Lagos, reinforcing his leading position at the closing tournament of the PT Tour, which offers €15,000 in prize money.

Today is the final day of the PT Tour Season.

The Algarve presented the “perfect setting” for the final tournament of the 2024 EDGA Tour calendar and the 10th EDGA RSM Series Algarve Open at Pestana Vila Sol, Vilamoura, held this November.

A full field of 72 players from 15 nations gathered to enjoy the tournament, which has become well-known for providing an exciting competitive test but in a highly welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all the players, especially those attending an international event for the first time.
