The World Press Cartoon Oeiras 2025 Jury meeting was held in Algés, Portugal, and the winners were selected. The winning entries came from Cuba, Germany, Iran, Italy, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal and Spain. In the photo, the 2025 Jury, from left to right: Niels Bo Bojesen, from Denmark, Paulo Morais-Alexandre, from Portugal, Anne Derenne, from France, António Antunes, from Portugal, and Tchavdar Nikolov, from Bulgaria. The awards will be announced on November 6th at www.worldpresscartoon.com and at a ceremony to be held at the Ruy de Carvalho Auditorium, managed by the Oeiras City Council, the main sponsor of the event.

To get around this problem, the organization provides participants with an alternative address, as shown on the new address label that can be downloaded in our website: worldpresscartoon.com

Establishing a sustainable agreement with a main sponsor proves to be a difficult objective to achieve when the decision is not to compromise with the quality standards that have made World Press Cartoon an unavoidable reference among salons around the world. In the last two years, the World Press Cartoon Board found itself without the means to launch a call for participation in its main event, meaning that the global community of cartoonists did not have this privileged meeting point in 2023 and 2024.

The history of World Press Cartoon is a guarantee of the organization’s commitment to defending the values we share around freedom of the press and the promotion of cartoons as an indispensable genre in reference journalism and we are grateful for the support of all the cartoonists who have contacted us, with words of encouragement that give us strength to continue.

We did not lower our arms and World Press Cartoon will be back soon, stronger than ever!
