We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Evelina Hodova to Sound Pressure Studios — a powerful Ukrainian singer with an incredible presence and a truly unique energy.

Evelina came in to record her song for her Eurovision participation, and from the very first take the synergy in the room was undeniable.

Her voice, her emotion, and her connection to the music filled the studio in a way that stayed with us long after the session ended.
She has that rare blend of rock intensity and pop clarity, and it’s exciting to imagine where her sound will go next.

We hope to hear more from Evelina in the future — new songs, new stories, and hopefully more moments together in the studio.

Wishing her all the best on this journey. 🌟🎤

We recently had the absolute pleasure of having Ricardo, former drummer of Theriomorphic (1997–2002), in the studio.
If you know your underground Portuguese metal history, you’ll remember him from “The Human Masquerade” demo (2000) — raw, powerful, and unmistakably old-school.

And the vibe?
Still exactly the same today.
Heavy groove, solid attitude, super friendly, and carrying that old-school spirit that just makes the room feel alive.

He came in to record drums for a personal project, and honestly… we loved working with him.
It’s always an honor to welcome musicians with so much history, passion, and genuine good energy.

Respect to you, Ricardo — our doors are always open. 🤘🔥

On December 12th, 2000, Xzibit released Restless — an album that left a serious mark on West Coast hip-hop.

Produced by a dream team including Dr. Dre, DJ Quik, Eminem, Battlecat, Scott Storch, Nottz, and many others, it became one of the defining records of its time.

What makes this one extra special for us at Sound Pressure Studios is that our CEO & Senior Producer, Leopoldo Lopes, was actually part of the production team, assisting in both the production and mixing process.

A huge experience, a wild learning environment, and definitely something that helped shape the standards and mindset we carry into our studio today.

It’s always inspiring to look back at moments like these — reminders of where the journey started and how far it's come.

New at Sound Pressure Studios — Music Theory Masterclasses with Gonçalo Quintas!

We’re very happy to share something we’ve been building for a long time: weekly group masterclasses in Music Theory, taught by our resident producer Gonçalo Quintas, a Summa Cum Laude graduate from Berklee College of Music and an incredibly versatile musician, composer, and arranger.

These classes are designed for everyone who works with music — musicians, singers, songwriters, and producers.
Understanding theory doesn’t make music less intuitive… it makes it clearer, deeper, and much easier to create with purpose.

We currently offer two levels:
🔹 Beginner — the full foundation of melody, harmony, rhythm, arrangement, scales, cadences, progressions, etc.
🔹 Intermediate — modes, advanced harmony, modulation, tensions, rhythm studies, groove, and practical arranging concepts.

Each class runs for 120 minutes, and the course spans over 20 hours of focused, structured learning.

Our studio had the pleasure of participating in their upcoming documentary about Fado, hosting video shoots, a mini-concert, and interviews with our dear friends .henrique (guitarra portuguesa) and the incredible singer .pferreira — both of whom we’re also collaborating with on original music to be released in the future.

Our Complete Works Spotify Playlist is approaching 6,000 songs! 🎧🔥 This playlist includes everything we’ve created since 1996, spanning genres from Pop to Hip Hop, R&B to Rock, Alternative, Metal, and every extreme genre in between.

Most of our early catalog was produced by Leopoldo Lopes during his time at Pyramix Studios in Germany (1996–2002). Since 2018, at Sound Pressure Studios in Portugal, Leopoldo has been joined by an incredible group of young producers and engineers, who have brought new energy and ideas to the studio.

The playlist continues to grow daily as we keep producing, recording, mixing, and mastering new music.

Zé Maldonado turned by our live room to track some guitar layers for ’s debut album, and the results sound awesome. He brought the groove, the vibe, and that unique whammy style. We paired his sound with our full SPS setup:

This is — resident producer at Sound Pressure Studios, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and Summa Cum Laude graduate of Berklee College of Music.

Gonçalo has worked on TV music in the US, contributed to productions at the Berklee Performance Center, and collaborates with artists across Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop. He also has experience in live sound, arranging and music direction.

Now, he brings to SPS a clear, modern, and practical approach to learning theory for real musicians and producers.

Temos anos de experiência a trabalhar com vários artistas em diversos estilos musicais, desde do pop à música electrónica, do kizomba, funk ao R&B, do rock ao metal, do hip hop à música latina tendo como objetivo sermos uma referência nacional e internacional na produção musical.
