On the morning of August 6, 1945—eighty years ago today—an atomic bomb was detonated over Hiroshima.

The Below’s track “Hitobito (Only the Shadows)” reflects on the devastation of that day, when the blast etched the shadows of victims permanently into stone.

In some cultures, vampires are believed to be soulless creatures—blood-drinking monsters who cast no shadow. But isn’t it even more haunting when the shadow remains, and the human is gone?

The surreal and unsettling animated video was created by Daniele Arcuri. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/zQvykcnv1Ec?si=U99xL9_lJds3C062

May 2: All revenue goes to artists & labels

Bandcamp Friday—support artists directly on May 2

Greetings,

Bandcamp Friday returns on May 2.

For 24 hours, we’re waiving our revenue share, meaning more of your money goes directly to the artists and labels you support.

Since launching Bandcamp Friday in 2020, fans have paid over $130 million directly to artists and labels through this initiative. That support has helped them pay rent, fund tours, press records, and even raise money for causes they care about.

It’s a simple idea with real impact: buy music and merch you love, and give artists a boost when they need it most.

Mark your calendar. Start building your wishlist. Bandcamp Friday is coming.

“Hitobito (Only the Shadows)” from The Below’s new album ”Immutable Behaviour)” is Video of the Week on Nordic Music Central!💛

A really nice article that I strongly recommend reading.

Reading time: 2 minutesWhen we last featured Swedish industrial post-punk rockers THE BELOW, in November, it was as a video release and I couldn’t avoid doing it again with this pleasant little spring lamb, Easter Egg, Jesus loves you ditty which took me back joyfully to my Cold War childhood and ...
