Qatar secured a historic qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a thrilling 2-1 win over the UAE at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha on Tuesday. Captain Boualem Khoukhi opened the scoring for Qatar in the 49th minute, before Pedro Miguel increased their lead in the 70th. UAE’s Sultan Adill Alamiri pulled one back in the eighth minute of stoppage time, but it was not enough to prevent Qatar’s first-ever direct qualification to the World Cup.
