The Boys of the Squad!
Meet our squad. We smile not because happiness is always around every corner of our house. The grin from ear to ear is for the challenges, daily struggles, and emotional and spiritual weakness that we have combatted for the last ten years. We can’t say that our squad has won, not just as yet! It’s a continuous battle between giving up and marching on. Our squad does not represent the Webster dictionary’s definition of a family. We’re not typical! But in between those loopholes and slits, we come out stronger and ready to face the next bunch of stumbling blocks.
Our boys, Erwin & Enzo, have a unique bond that you don’t see every day. Erwin grew up in an unconventional way, with all those doctor’s appointments, routinary assessments, regressions, never-ending developmental therapies, and where hitting milestones is a celebration. While Enzo, being the younger one, has to always be on his feet, the more understanding sibling, the one who always gives way, and the brother who looks after his brother. They fight. A lot! But don’t get us wrong. They love each other! A special bond rooted in their own differences.
This is just a glimpse of our story. Our daily life is based on variable change. Change that has been a part of our squad. And we learned to love each and every change that comes along the way.
