Midfielder Mohamed Elneny is extending his stay with us. Mo, 29, has been a key member of the squad since joining us from Basel in 2016. He's made 147 appearances, scoring five goals and contributing 10 assists. Mo, the first Egyptian ever to play for the club, has 93 international appearances to his name. He made his Arsenal debut in a 2–1 win against Burnley in the FA Cup in January 2016 and was in the 2016/17 FA Cup-winning squad....

Mohamed Elneny could not hide his delight at signing a new contract with the Gunners, and says he now wants to play out the rest of his career at the club. The Egyptian midfielder showed his worth to the squad again at the end of the season, and has been rewarded for his fine displays with a new deal. Having signed in January 2016, Elneny is one of the longest-serving players at the club, and he tells us he’s not ready for the love affair to end yet....

Mikel Arteta was proud of the performance from his side on the final day of the season, saying the players wanted to give something back to the fans for their level of support throughout the season. The manager said that the supporters’ attachment to the side has grown all season, and that link will be important as the team look to push on again next season....
