The first king of Saudi Arabia was King Abdulaziz Al Saud, also known as Ibn Saud. He was born in 1875 and became a pivotal figure in the unification of the Arabian Peninsula. Abdulaziz began his campaign to unite the various tribal regions of Arabia in 1902, starting with the capture of Riyadh, his family's ancestral home. Over the next three decades, he expanded his control over the region through a combination of military conquests, alliances, and diplomacy.

In 1932, he officially established the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, uniting the disparate regions of Nejd, Hejaz, and other areas under a single monarchy. His reign laid the foundation for the modern state of Saudi Arabia, which has grown significantly in economic and geopolitical influence since then. Abdulaziz ruled until his death in 1953, and his descendants continue to play significant roles in the governance of Saudi Arabia.
