🌍 During the Erasmus+ International Staff Week hosted by Vasile Goldiș Western University of Arad, participants had the opportunity to explore inspiring initiatives that promote active citizenship and democratic engagement across Europe.

One of these initiatives is the Jean Monnet Module “Communicating EU for Participation” (COMEU4PAR), coordinated by Prof. Angela Maria Romito at the University of Bari and funded by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency. The project aims to strengthen knowledge about the European Union, combat disinformation, and encourage citizens’ participation in shaping the European agenda.

Bringing together experts, students, and researchers from several European universities, the project promotes dialogue through lectures, seminars, workshops, and international collaboration.

As Erasmus+ strongly supports transnational exchange and cooperation, our International Staff Week provided the perfect setting for dissemination and discussion activities. We were pleased to host the presentation “Active Citizenship in the EU: New Participatory Models, Enduring Structural Problems”, contributing to an engaging debate on the future of democratic participation in Europe.

As part of the Erasmus+ International Staff Week, participants had the opportunity to attend two insightful academic presentations delivered by our distinguished guests from Mexico.

Assoc. Prof. Alejandro Hernández Chávez explored the topic “Medical Education: International Perspectives on Teaching and Curriculum Design”, highlighting innovative approaches to medical education and the importance of adapting curricula to an increasingly globalized academic environment.

Prof. Dr. Ana Victoria Vega Salcedo, neurobiologist, delivered a fascinating presentation entitled “Moonlight Activities of Ion Channels”, offering participants valuable insights into the complex roles of ion channels beyond their traditionally understood functions.

We sincerely thank our colleagues for sharing their expertise and contributing to the international exchange of knowledge and best practices that lies at the heart of the Erasmus+ programme.

🌍✨ We are pleased to announce the 5th edition of the Erasmus+ International Staff Week, taking place 18–22 May 2026, organized by “Vasile Goldiș” Western University of Arad.
The event will welcome international colleagues for a week dedicated to academic exchange, professional development, networking, and cultural experiences within the Erasmus+ framework.

🌍✨ Avem plăcerea de a anunța cea de-a cincea ediție a Erasmus+ International Staff Week, care va avea loc în perioada 18–22 mai 2026, organizată de Universitatea de Vest “Vasile Goldiș” din Arad.
Evenimentul va reuni colegi internaționali pentru o săptămână dedicată schimbului de experiență academică, dezvoltării profesionale, networkingului și activităților culturale, în cadrul programului Erasmus+.

We were delighted to welcome Dr. Nancy Pontes (School of Nursing) and Dr. Anita Pansari (School of Business) from Rutgers University – Camden Campus, USA, as visiting professors under the Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility Programme.

During their visit, they engaged with our academic community through inspiring lectures, meaningful discussions with students and staff, and valuable exchanges of expertise in their respective fields. Their presence contributed to strengthening international academic cooperation and fostering new perspectives for future collaboration between our institutions.

We sincerely thank Dr. Pontes and Dr. Pansari for their openness, professionalism, and enthusiasm, and we look forward to continuing this fruitful partnership with Rutgers University – Camden. 🌍📚
