What happened with Az and River is a clear reminder of how hard it is to move in a world full of double standards.
When they were quiet and emotional, people mocked them and said, “You don’t deserve the spot if you can’t fight for it.” They were told to toughen up, to show more fire. That emotions had no place in the game.
But now that they’ve finally found the courage to choose themselves—to stand up and believe they deserve it—people are still mad. This time, they’re being called selfish, inconsistent, or undeserving.
The truth is: no matter how hard you try, people will always find something to hate on when they’ve already made up their mind about you. And that’s not about you—it’s about them.
