StaticVFX Studio presents “Feather and Prowl” – our in-house full CG short film, set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, directed by Max Ţucudean .

Prepare to be transported to a desolate and time-forgotten place, where the remnants of civilization collide with the harsh realities of survival.

“Feather and Prowl” is not just a simple in-house short film for us. Our artists wanted to explore new roles in film-making, so this is how Max, our animator and compositor, took on this challenge and became the director of this animation. The whole team supported and helped him in his new adventure, while Max discovered what it is like to bring your story and vision to life.

Congratulations and many thanks to each and every member of the team! Get ready for the next ones 🙃

Liviu, our CG Supervisor & Co-Founder, infuses every project with passion and precision. From character animation to directing award-winning short films, his dedication to storytelling knows no bounds. As a Siggraph Animation Festival Jury Member, Liviu cherishes innovation and collaboration, weaving tales that captivate hearts and minds alike.

Alin, our VFX Supervisor & Co-Founder, brings soul and substance to our studio’s endeavors. His story is one of relentless passion and unwavering dedication to the craft. With a background in film studies and a portfolio boasting projects like Ant-Man and Bird Box Barcelona, his dedication to excellence shines through in every frame.

Join us in welcoming Stefano Carta to VFX Hangout 5 - Togetherness!  With a decade of experience in the industry, Stefano brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in 3D character modelling to our event.
 

Stefano is a 3D character modeller with 10 years of experience working in feature films and TV series. After graduating in Computer Science he started focusing his studies in 3D Graphics, enrolling in the masterclass in Computer Animation at BigRock School, in Italy.
 
At the end of the master, he was selected for an internship at the school, to further develop his skills and put them in practice. His professional career began a little after that in the UK, where he joined MPC in London, working as a modelling and texture artist for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. While at MPC, Stefano gradually specialized on character and facial modelling, through shows such as The Jungle Book, The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Terminator Genisys, where he worked on high-end digital creatures and humans.
 
His work on digital characters led him to a nomination at the VES Awards, for re-creating a young Rachel in the movie Blade Runner 2049.
 
 Stefano continued his path in DNEG London, where he collaborated with the modelling team on movies such as Venom, the Fast and Furious franchise, and The Matrix Resurrections.
 
 
 
Looking for a break from rainy London, he moved to rainy Vancouver, where he currently works as a lead character modeller in DNEG.

Let’s shine the spotlight on Iulia Burcă, a talented Romanian 3D Rigger who beautifully merges art with programming in her day-to-day work. 
 
 
After graduating with first-class honors from Bournemouth University, Iulia kicked off her professional journey at DNEG London, contributing to blockbuster movies like “Tenet” and “Fast and Furious”.
 
Transitioning to Blue Zoo Animation Studio, she delved into the world of feature animation films and series, where she mastered the art of rigging for a whole new genre.  This shift allowed her to explore the versatility of her field and delve into scripting languages, enhancing her ability to craft complex cartoony rigs and tools. 

Iulia’s portfolio boasts of award-winning shows like “The Adventures of Paddington Bear”, “Pip and Posy”, and “The Smeds and the Smoos”. Currently based in Vancouver, Canada, she’s an invaluable member of the rigging team at Image Engine, lending her expertise to projects like Netflix’s “Avatar the Last Airbender”, “Halo”, and exciting upcoming releases like “Kraven the Hunter”, “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”, and “The 3 Body Problem”.

When she’s not busy bringing digital creatures to life, Iulia enjoys spending quality time with her beloved dog, Roxy. 🐾
