3rd day at Summer Well Festival and what a day it was. Since I knew I would be seeing SHE and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, I decided to goth up and, well, I guess it worked because everyone wanted to get a picture with me! Also, expect many recordings of me dancing because I did a lot of that. When?
Well, during +SHE+'s performance where Corina and her band had an incredible performance, albeit short. What I really really like about the band is their wide range of styles which they can pull off also because Corina masters quite a few vocal techniques that enable her to switch from punk rock, to gothic rock, to doom metal and beyond. If you're into the goth thing, +SHE+ probably have something for you! To which one has to add that the showmanship is very VERY compelling. I think the band have all the ingredients to go big, I really do. They are just too good ๐ I danced my bones off to their splendid postpunk beats.
Next came Chalk, an industrial rock band that goes very heavy on the synths samples. BOY WAS THAT FUN! IT WAS INDUSTRIAL DANCE TIME FOR ME. ๐
I then took a break because those Demonia platforms are great for dancing... Only for dancing, not walking. After a decent bite, I saw the tour de force offered by the relentless Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Having already seen them a few years ago, I knew what to expect: very bombastic art rock very much focused on Nick Cave's singing and, more importantly, delivery. That's because Cave is very much a storyteller during shows. Many songs are low tempo and sung almost in spoken word with Cave literally being a performing narrator on stage. I must say, it is not necessarily my cup of tea as their music has never really grown on me when I play it at home. But live, it's a whole different experience.
