Medellín — sau, cm m-au învățat localnicii, „Medejín”. 🇨🇴

Un oraș pe care e imposibil să-l înțelegi dintr-o singură fotografie.

În spatele acestui carusel sunt tradițiile din Antioquia, căldura și accentul inconfundabil al paisas, străzi pline de culoare și muzică, dar și o istorie cu pagini extrem de întunecate și o transformare extraordinară.

Da, Pablo Escobar face parte din istoria Medellínului — un capitol ale cărui cicatrici încă se simt. Dar Medellín este mult, mult mai mult decât Escobar.

Și poate că nicăieri nu vezi asta mai bine decât în Comuna 13. Cândva marcată de conflicte și violență, astăzi zidurile ei spun o cu totul altă poveste: graffiti, hip-hop, dans, mici afaceri locale și o comunitate care și-a transformat străzile într-un simbol al renașterii. 🇨🇴

Apoi există celălalt Medellín: tradițiile paisa, munții care înconjoară orașul, fotbalul, mâncarea, muzica, viața de noapte, priveliștile spectaculoase și atmosfera aceea de primăvară eternă.

Am venit să descopăr un oraș cu un trecut fascinant.

Am plecat descoperind un oraș mult mai preocupat să-și construiască viitorul.

Medellín. Medallo. Medejín. 💚🤍

Some places you visit. Others you walk into and never quite leave behind. 🌴🇨🇴

Walking through Cocora Valley, surrounded by the surreal wax palms rising impossibly high into the Andean sky, felt like stepping into another world. One moment you’re following a trail through intensely green hills, the next you’re standing beneath Colombia’s national trees, some towering more than 50 meters above you.

Mist drifting across the mountains, horses on the trails, endless shades of green and those extraordinary palms appearing through the clouds… this is the Colombia I came to discover. 💚

No rush. No shortcuts. Just walking, looking around, and trying to take it all in.

Life goes on after the earthquake. 🇨🇴❤️

Yesterday, the earth shook. Today, Salento is back to doing what it does best — filling its streets with color, coffee, people, old Jeeps… and a few very curious faces watching from the balconies. 🐶🐱☕️

There are cracks, fallen tiles and reminders of how powerful nature can be. But there’s also something stronger in these streets: life continuing.

Salento may have been shaken, but it certainly hasn’t lost its colors. 🌈🇨🇴

Qué pueblo tan maravilloso. ❤️

🇨🇴 EARTHQUAKE IN COLOMBIA — A VERY DIFFERENT WAKE-UP CALL

Colombia started the day with an unexpected reminder of just how powerful nature can be.

An earthquake was felt across parts of the country this morning, including here in Salento, in Colombia’s Coffee Region. What began as an ordinary morning suddenly changed when the building started moving and that unmistakable realization kicked in: this wasn’t traffic, construction or imagination — the ground was actually shaking.

Experiencing an earthquake is strange. For a few seconds, your brain tries to understand what is happening while everything around you feels slightly out of place. Then comes the realization that there is absolutely nothing you can do except wait for the movement to stop.

Thankfully, I’m safe and everything around me here in Salento appears normal. 🙏🇨🇴

Travel is usually about discovering beautiful landscapes, different cultures, incredible food and unforgettable people. But occasionally it also gives you a very real reminder that the places we visit are shaped by forces far bigger than us.

Definitely one of those mornings I won’t forget.

Colombia decided to tell me “Buenos días” in its own way today. 🌎🇨🇴

Bogotá doesn’t whisper. It speaks in color. 🇨🇴✨

Through grand plazas and centuries-old churches, cobbled streets and explosive street art, unexpected performances and flavors that look almost too beautiful to eat — Bogotá feels wonderfully alive.

There’s history here, but there’s also attitude. Music. Art. Chaos. Creativity. And that unmistakable Colombian energy around every corner.

Bogotá, you were quite an introduction to Colombia. ❤️💛💙
