In the second issue of this year, guest editors Lavinia Vasiu, Cristina Bocoș and Alexandru Mardale gather papers that collectively describe the portrait of the speaker of Romanian as a second language. The studies you will find in Studia 2/2025 bring an important contribution to a fruitful field of research that is very relevant today. They discuss the cognitive aspects involved in processing and producing the target language, individual and social factors in learning, as well as didactic aspects, covering the journey of a learner of Romanian and encompassing a wide array of backgrounds (including RL2 speakers of German, French, and Spanish linguistic backgrounds). The first issue of 2025 is now out! Studia Philologia 1/2025, guest edited by Diana Mistreanu and Andrei Lazar, tackles the issue of autotheory and transbiography as new forms of self-writing. The objective of this special edition is to fully capture the complexity of the relationship between (auto)biographical elements and the creative practice of a subject engaged in a form of (theoretical) self-narration. As such, the papers reunited under this theme explore autotheory and transbiography through contemporary literary, cinematic, and artistic corpora.
