After its successful 2024 edition, Overground Music and the National Theatre Bucharest announce the return of Rooftop Season, the coolest open-air musical experience of the summer.

Following the big success of byron’s sold-out show on July 7th, the series continues with another sold-out show, this time featuring Luiza Zan and Jazzpar Trio.

We talked to Luiza Zan ahead of her concert at the National Theatre Bucharest about her career and why we need jazz in our lives, in an exclusive interview.

Bucharest-born and Peru-reborn indie rock band Guilty is making a highly anticipated return to their hometown for a special, one-night-only performance. On July 2, fans are invited to Club B52, located on Strada 11 Iunie 50, Bucharest, to experience the band’s distinctive blend of emotional anthems and electrifying energy live on stage. The show starts at 9:00 PM, with tickets available for 30 Lei in advance and 45 Lei at the door.

This summer, the underground punk scenes in Sibiu and Cluj-Napoca are about to get louder. Bucharest-based bands Martalogii and Brainwasher are heading out of the capital for two explosive gigs that mark their first appearances in both cities. The organizers of Rock la Mures have officially revealed the final lineup for this year’s edition of the festival, taking place July 11–12 at Periam Port, in Timiș County. The latest additions, rounding out the 13th edition’s poster, include: Chaoseum, the Swiss nu-metal sensation; Macanache, a living legend of the Romanian hip-hop scene; and two ambitious local acts, Yvonne and Monokrom.

"On the 8th of June, I attended a Deftones tribute band show at Quantic. They are called “Deftones Tribute MX,” a name which points to the last song on the album “Around the Fur.” The band came all the way from Bulgaria for this show, and for that reason some of my friends told me this was going to be a great concert, since cover bands from Bulgaria are apparently pretty good. The band did not gravely disappoint from a musical point of view, but I did have my objections."

What band would be perfect on a Friday night at a festival, after a long week? Probably byron, alongside Classix Quartet, and Rocanotherworld is the place to see them live this week!

byron is a rock band with wide-ranging influences, formed in 2006. Since then, they’ve released eight studio albums, three filmed concerts, and three vinyl records. They’re just as comfortable delivering powerful electric sets on large festival stages as they are performing acoustically or alongside a string quartet or symphony orchestra.

On June 21st, you can experience a dose of randomness, eccentricity, and good music with Toulouse Lautrec at Rocanotherworld!

Toulouse Lautrec is a memory of Bucharest in the 2000s. They’ve taken something from the painter’s spirit and carried it through radio waves and onto stages across the country. In an era full of “post-” labels, Toulouse Lautrec is post-indie rock, post-mainstream, and post-underground. They’ve made it through MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Spotify, and now they’re navigating the age of artificial intelligence.

At their core, they’re still four guys with guitars and drums, reinventing themselves for over 14 years. With five albums, dozens of songs hitting the charts, countless music videos, and shows in at least seven countries, maybe even across seven seas, as they like to say, they’re still here, doing what they do best.
