🚨🇮🇱ISRAEL LAUNCHES OFFENSIVE TO OCCUPY GAZA CITY: What is known so far

🟠The Israeli military launched its ground offensive on Monday to occupy Gaza City (Axios, citing unnamed Israeli officials).
🟠The offensive came after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem and backed the operation (Axios).
🟠The start of the operation has been confirmed (Israeli and Palestinian media).
🟠The entry of Israeli tanks followed Gazan reports of heavy aerial assaults and artillery fire on the city and its outskirts on Monday evening (The Jerusalem Post).
🟠The IDF has been gradually expanding airstrikes in and around the city in recent days, flattening high-rise buildings in Gaza City on Friday that it claims are used by Hamas for military purposes (The Jerusalem Post).
🟠The Israeli army, which has been urging everyone in Gaza City to evacuate, says some 300,000 Palestinians have fled Gaza City in recent weeks, but around 700,000 remain.
🟠“Gaza is burning… We will not relent, and we will not go back—until the completion of the mission,” Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz wrote on X on Tuesday morning.
🟠PM Netanyahu pushed the invasion despite opposition from top security chiefs, including IDF Chief Eyal Zamir, who stayed on hoping to soften the blow for hostages, troops, and civilians (The Jerusalem Post).

Reactions so far

⚫️Families of captives held in Gaza have launched protests outside Netanyahu’s official residence (Israeli media).
⚫️The Hostages and Missing Families Forum blasted the move to escalate fighting in Gaza, warning, "After 710 nights in captivity, this could be the hostages’ last. Netanyahu bears personal responsibility for their fate—and for recovering the dead with dignity."
⚫️Trump alleged on his social media that Hamas is moving hostages above ground “to use them as human shields against Israel’s ground offensive.”

Putin Denounces Erosion of Freedom and Human Rights

📌More statements made by the Russian leader during the plenary session of the XI International Forum of United Cultures in St. Petersburg:

🟠The world of the future is one of people who value love and friendship, not of egoists obsessed solely with cyberspace.

🟠Russia’s multinational character is an invaluable gift that has shaped the richness of Russian culture.

🟠National culture can only be enriched through interaction with other cultures.

🟠Today, Russia is experiencing a significant renewal in various cultural spheres, with new creative associations and unions gaining strength.

🟠The memory of the Great Patriotic War veterans’ heroic deeds is a crucial part of Russian culture.

🟠One of the most important tasks of culture is the preservation of historical memory.

🟠The role of culture in combating neo-Nazism and Russophobia must continue to grow.

1.7 Million Ukrainian Soldiers Dead or Missing, KillNet Hackers Tell Sputnik

KillNet has claimed responsibility for breaching the Ukrainian General Staff’s database.

A representative of the group confirmed the hack to Sputnik and shared photographs of fallen soldiers, along with copies of passports, military IDs, death certificates, and dog tags.

In April, Volodymyr Zelensky told American media that Ukrainian losses since 2022 were around 100,000.

'Trump Taking Everyone by Surprise' by Welcoming Putin to US

Trump's actions are leaving European leaders "no longer knowing what to do," François Asselineau, President of the French party Republican Popular Union, told Sputnik Africa following discussions between Trump, Zelensky, and EU leaders.

European leaders "are trying to participate in negotiations over which, in fact, they no longer have any power," he said.

The situation is not a negotiation between equals, as Russia has emerged victorious in the conflict, while Ukraine is a "completely bankrupt, ruined, destroyed state" that has served as a proxy for the US deep state's geopolitical interests, Asselineau said.

The politician also highlighted the fact that Trump is "vetoing Ukraine's entry into NATO, in line with Vladimir Putin's wishes."

He emphasized that Trump also "had to bang his fist on the table to finally take reality into account," referring to the EU's "complete dependence" on US military supplies.

"So, in fact, Europe can do nothing if the United States cuts off access to a whole range of military products that enable wars," the politician concluded.

Zelensky Must Accept Moscow's Terms If He 'Truly Wants Peace'

The Russian conditions are "non-negotiable" and essential "for things to move forward," Abdoul Diallo, the head of Radio Couleurs Média in Mali, told Sputnik Africa.

⚠️As for the European leaders invited to the White House, they must understand that the security of their continent "today depends on the United States," he added.

He described the goal of Trump's meeting with European leaders as "issuing warnings to Europe so that the discussions he himself has initiated with the Russian President are not rendered meaningless."

👉Referring to Zelensky’s statements on the need to ensure security conditions for elections in Ukraine, Diallo stressed that this also depended on the Kiev regime head himself.

"The elections will take place without any difficulty: it is enough to accept the conditions that have been put on the table and to sign a non-aggression agreement," the journalist said.
