විෂ මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය උවදුර පරදන 'රටම එකට' ජාතික මෙහෙයුම සමාරම්භක අවස්ථාවට අද (30) පෙරවරුවේ කොළඹ සුගතදාස ගෘහස්ථ ක්‍රීඩාංගණයේදී එක්වීමි.
මේ වන විට ජාතික ව්‍යසනයක් බවට පත්ව පාසල් දරුවන්ගේ මෙන්ම තරුණ ප්‍රජාවගේ ජීවිත අවදානමට ලක් කර ඇති විෂ මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය ජාවාරම කේන්ද්‍ර කර ගනිමින් බොහෝ අපරාධ සිදු වන බවටද නිරීක්ෂණය වී තිබේ. ඒ අනුව විෂ මත්ද්‍රව්‍යවලට එරෙහි පුළුල්ම මහජන ව්‍යාපාරය ගොඩනඟමින්, නියත වශයෙන්ම විෂ මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය උවදුර රටින් මුලිනුපුටා දමා අනාගත පරපුරත්, සමාජයත් එම ව්‍යසනයෙන් ගලවා ගන්නා බව මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කළ මම, වහාම එයින් ඉවත් වන ලෙස විෂ මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය අළෙවි කරන්නන්ට සහ ඒ සදහා ඇබ්බැහි වූවන්ට දැනුම් දුන්නෙමි.
අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීම, පුනරුත්ථාපනය, නිවාරණය, මහජන තෙරපුම, ආගම, ක්‍රීඩාව, කලාව සහ සංස්කෘතිය යන බහුවිධ ක්ෂේත්‍ර ඔස්සේ 'රටම එකට' ජාතික මෙහෙයුම ක්‍රියාවට නංවන බව පැවසූ මම, එකී ජාතික කාර්යභාරය වෙනුවෙන් එක් වන ලෙස සියලු දෙනාට ආරාධනා කළෙමි.
கொழும்பு சுகததாச உள்ளக விளையாட்டரங்கில் இன்று (30) காலை நடைபெற்ற போதைப்பொருள் அச்சுறுத்தலைத் தோற்கடிக்கும் 'முழு நாடுமே ஒன்றாக' தேசிய செயற்பாட்டின் ஆரம்ப நிகழ்வில் நான் கலந்து கொண்டேன்.
தற்போது தேசிய பேரழிவாக மாறி பாடசாலை மாணவர்கள் மட்டுமன்றி இளைஞர் சமூகத்தின் உயிர்களை ஆபத்தில் தள்ளியுள்ள போதைப்பொருள் வர்த்தகத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்டு அநேகமான குற்றங்கள் நடப்பது அவதானிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதன்படி, போதைப்பொருட்களுக்கு எதிரான பரந்த பொதுமக்கள் இயக்கத்தை உருவாக்கி, நிச்சயமாக போதைப்பொருள் பேரழிவை நாட்டிலிருந்து ஒழித்து எதிர்கால சந்ததியினரையும் சமூகத்தையும் அந்தப் பேரழிவிலிருந்து காப்பாற்றுவோம் என்பதை நான் வலியுறுத்தினேன். போதைப்பொருள் விற்பனை செய்பவர்களையும் அவற்றுக்கு அடிமையானவர்களையும் உடனடியாக அகன்று விடுமாறு நான் அறிவித்தேன்.
கைது செய்தல், புனர்வாழ்வு, தடுப்பு, பொதுமக்கள் அழுத்தம், மதம், விளையாட்டு, கலை மற்றும் கலாசாரம் ஆகிய பலதரப்பட்ட துறைகள் மூலம் "முழு நாடுமே ஒன்றாக" தேசிய செயற்பாட்டை முன்னெடுப்பதாக தெரிவித்த நான், அந்த தேசிய பணியில் இணையுமாறு அனைவருக்கும் அழைப்பு விடுத்தேன்.
Attended the launch of the National Mission “A United Nation" to eradicate the drug menace this morning (30) at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.
At present, the drug trade has become a grave national concern, endangering the lives of school children, the youth and serving as the root cause of many serious crimes. Emphasizing the urgent need to eradicate this menace completely, I stated that a broad public movement will be established to eliminate the drug threat from our country and to protect both our future generations and society as a whole.
I also conveyed a firm message to all those engaged in or connected to the drug trade, urging them to withdraw from such activities immediately.
“A Nation United” - National Mission will be implemented through a multifaceted approach encompassing law enforcement, rehabilitation, prevention, public awareness, religion, sports, art and culture. I invited everyone to unite and actively contribute to this national endeavour.
