Mark 10:9 “Therefore what God has joined together, let man not put asunder”
Marriage is not a magic promise that two people will stay together forever. Just getting married does not mean the relationship will always be happy or strong. What really keeps a marriage going is the effort both partners put into it every single day. Marriage is like a plant-if you don’t take care of it, it will not grow.
To make a marriage last, there must be trust. Both people should be honest and believe in each other. Without trust, love becomes weak. Respect is also very important. You must value your partner’s feelings, opinions, and choices. When there is respect, both people feel safe and happy.
Commitment means standing by your partner even during difficult times. Life is not always perfect, but commitment helps you stay strong together. Understanding each other’s needs and feelings is another key. Sometimes you need to listen more and talk less to see things from your partner’s side.
True marriage also includes friendship. Partners should laugh together, share dreams, and support one another like good friends. And finally, faith-having faith means believing that your relationship can face any challenge with love and patience.
In short, a happy marriage is not built in a day or by just signing papers. It takes time, effort, and heart. When you trust, respect, commit, understand, stay friends, and have faith, your marriage has a real chance to last forever
