Swing to the Strings

Swing to the Strings A program started by the national broadcaster You Me SIBC to encourage more young people to revive string bands - the original form of introduced music.

Swing to the Strings, STS, was started at the end of 2013 by the management of the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation, SIBC, aimed at encouraging young Solomon Islanders and those who love this unique authentic music of the country to keep it going into the long term future. It's going from strength to strength, thanks to SIBC's efforts!

Sorry that there are no new swing to the strings bands. All you hear nowadays were recorded from 2014 to 2018. Here's hoping the program can be revived soon. In the meantime, please continue to enjoy what's on this page now. We hope to include more clips for your enjoyment very soon.
