๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: NEOC, UNDER THE DRDM, CONFIRMS COORDINATED RESPONSE TO CURRENT WEATHER CONDITIONS; URGES PUBLIC TO REMAIN VIGILANT
The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), operating under the Department of Risk and Disaster Management (DRDM) in collaboration with the Department of Information (DOI), confirms that it is coordinating the Government's response to the current adverse weather conditions. The public is assured that the situation remains under control.
Relevant agencies are closely monitoring conditions and remain on standby to respond as required. As a precautionary measure, non-essential workers have been released from duty and schools have been closed to safeguard public safety.
The DRDM, through the NEOC, is the sole official source of communication regarding this situation. All press releases and updates from Ministries, Departments and Agencies are being channeled through the Centre to ensure that the public receives accurate and consistent information. The public is strongly urged to disregard unofficial reports and to rely exclusively on updates issued by the NEOC.
As a precautionary measure, the public is advised to:
โข Inspect their property, checking the stability of trees and tree branches, surrounding grounds and large rocks for signs that could indicate a risk of collapse or landslide.
โข Check for water leakage from roofing.
โข Unclog and clear gutters and drains to prevent flooding.
โข Avoid unnecessary movement or loitering outdoors.
The Government remains committed to doing everything necessary to protect lives and property.
