Pregnancy is meant to be a time of joy, of wonder, of growing life and glowing love.
But for so many women, hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) shatters that picture.
This isn’t “just morning sickness.”
It’s constant, violent vomiting that steals your strength and your spirit.
It’s going days without keeping a single bite of food down.
It’s IV drips, emergency rooms, and hospital beds that feel more familiar than your own home.
It’s watching the scale drop when everything in you knows your baby needs more.
It’s waking up with dread every morning because you know the battle is about to begin again.
It’s the crushing loneliness—because no one truly gets how brutal it is.
It’s the guilt—because you’re told to be grateful while your body is being broken apart.
And the most heartbreaking part?
Most people don’t even know it exists.
So women suffer in silence.
They’re brushed off, minimized, told it’s “normal.”
They’re handed ginger tea when what they really need is help—real help.
They’re fighting for their lives while growing one.
Hyperemesis gravidarum deserves more awareness. More compassion. More action.
Because no mother should ever have to suffer unseen or unheard.
To every woman who has lived through this nightmare:
You are powerful. You are brave.
And you are stronger than the world will ever understand.
