Think Irish dancing is all fake tans and hairspray? Think again!

This week, we’re heading backstage at the CLRG Irish Dancing Commission World Irish Dance Championships in Dublin, where the sparkle is real but the stories run far deeper.

Photographer Joe Hart captures the pressure, pride and perfectly poised chaos behind the scenes, while we explore the culture, craft and athleticism driving this global sport.

From blistered toes and immaculate wigs to proud parents and fierce ambition, we find out what it really takes to chase a world title.

The first two stages of the 2025 powered through packed streets, sun-soaked villages and roaring crowds this weekend.

Stage one ended in a brutal uphill sprint in Plumelec, where Marianne Vos stormed into yellow, before Mavi García delivered a solo masterclass into Quimper and Kim Le Court pulled on the jersey.

WHAT 👏 A 👏 START 🙌

All captured through the lens of the brilliant , Nikon Europe ambassador.

Oooooooof!

have officially made last-minute drama their signature move - and we’re here for it!

First came , 19 years old and fearless, crashing into the box in the 96th minute and firing England back from the brink.

Off the bench, onto the scoresheet, and straight into legend status.

Then, in the dying seconds of extra time, who else but ?!

Chloe stepped up and buried the winner from the spot. One penalty, full power, job done.

From rising stars to proven heroes, the Lionesses delivered the chaos, the composure, and the glory!

See you in the finals!

Wimbledon Tennis, for all its grace & strawberries, is the spiritual home of sleep-deprived optimism, where thousands line up in the night like it’s a Taylor Swift presale, only wetter & with more Tupperware.

This is the story of how one writer armed with a sandwich & a Lime bike, joined the most civilised and ridiculous queue in British sport.

Well worth staying up until 5am here in London to watch Taylor Serrano 3!

Congratulations to the victor by a majority decision of . Clinical, composed and relentless.

Besides these two main card warriors, tonight (or this morning here!) in front of a sold out Madison Square Garden, we saw Ellie Scotney become unified champ, Alycia Baumgardner return with a convincing win, Cherneka Johnson take undisputed status, Ramla Ali edge a close one, and Tamm Thibeault land a slick stoppage.

Every fighter brought skill, serious showmanship (or should we say show-womanship!), and showed exactly why women’s boxing is worth watching, investing in, and headlining one of the world’s biggest stages.

We already knew this was a landmark event, backed by a meticulous press tour and serious commercial power. But seeing it play out on , with millions and millions watching from around the world, is something else.

This was sport as entertainment, at its slickest.

Is this a blueprint for how to build commercially viable, mainstream, mass-audience events centred on women?
And how crucial is the role of companies like who continue to back female fighters not as a one-off, but as the core of their stable and strategy?

We’ll be digging into what Taylor Serrano 3 means for the future of women’s sport in next week’s Glorious Sport editorial drop. Until then, check out our latest stories by tapping the link in our bio.

Palomas, pagris and a whole lot of cricket!

I'd never been to women’s cricket until I ventured to The Kia Oval in south London to watch England take on India in a summer showdown - what I found was a T20 that felt less like a polite sporting event and more like the summer party you didn’t know you needed.

At Glorious, we’re no strangers to sport’s great pilgrimages. But few are as famously absurd or meticulously British as the Wimbledon Tennis Queue. It’s not just well known, it’s a cultural monument – complete with an official guide, a live tracking website, and its own rules of engagement.

Naturally, we wanted in. So we did what any sensible publication would do: we sent someone to the back of it.

Armed with a toasted sandwich, blind optimism, and no sense of urgency, Sid joined the ranks in the early hours of the morning, blissfully unaware of what lay ahead. What followed was a test of endurance, etiquette, and whether two people can survive a full day on passive-aggressive glances and one raincoat between them.

Welcome to the most British sporting ritual in existence. No ticket guaranteed. Just time, snacks, and a deep belief that the system will reward you.

Inside the legendary Wimbledon Tennis Queue: a writer joins the line for tickets and a sandwich, keeping us up-to-date with a funny diary.

You’ve just played for your country, faced down a turning ball under floodlights, helped steer a team chase in front of thousands, and before the sweat’s even dried, you’re already being asked about the next series. Life moves fast when you’re playing international cricket, living out of a suitcase and spending most of your year on the road.

So what comes after the chaos when you’re one of England’s most seasoned pros?

For Heather Knight, it’s usually a cold Diet Coke and whatever series the team’s gossiping about in the group chat. Love Island is divisive, but it gets airtime. For Tammy Beaumont, it’s Married at First Sight Australia, no questions asked. “Not proud of it. But it happens!”

Drama, rivalry and a whole lot of cricket. England Women are taking on India in a historic summer series with the men’s and disability teams in tow. From tactics to telly habits, Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight let us in on life at the top of the game.
