5 questions to help you spot if a company is a good fit.

1/ Is there anything that might happen in the next 6–12 months which might impact my role?

Why: Uncovers risks like restructures or planned changes.

2/ Are we profitable (you want a % answer) & if not, what is the current burn rate?

Why: It tests financial stability beyond surface-level hype.

3/ What is the company’s vision for the next five years?

Why: It reveals long-term thinking (or lack of it).

4/ If I was successful in this role, what would progression potentially look like?

Why: It shows if growth is realistic or just talk.

5/ How would you describe the culture of the business?

Why: Gives insight into values, behaviour, and environment.

A good company will welcome these questions.
A great one will have thoughtful answers.
