Bio:
Meia's Dream is an artist based in Gothenburg, Sweden. He started his musical journey at a young age listening to Micheal Jackson and his brothers Hip hop albums. Discovering trance music led him into a passion for exploring new music and different genres and sounds.
Years of music digging resulted in great understanding for sounds and styles and can easily be spotted in his rich variety of selections and the playfulness and flexibilty when DJ-ing.
His sets are characterized by a dynamic flow, sincere energy and interesting elements.

INTERVIEW, Meia's Dream
Meia's Dream about the begining:
"Music really started to take hold of me when I was around 9-10, listening to Michael Jackson and borrowing hip hop albums from my big brother. My expedition into electronic music came only a few years later when I discovered trance music, and how it resonated so well with me having been brought up with the lovely, accentuated melodies of the Nintendo Entertainment System.
From there I was completely self-going in my quest to find music for myself, hanging out on Digitally Imported radio, the TranceAddict forum and scouring p2p networks for all kinds of good stuff - it could be everything from some obscure illbient piece to folk music from around the world, techno in its various iterations, trance, brit pop - a real licorice allsorts kind of deal. I started DJ-ing at home using a basic sound editing software called Wavepad, where I developed a tedious but fun method of mixing! The mixes were made for own listening pleasures, but one of my best friends was also always keen on hearing them."
Meia's Dream about his sound and artist name:
"To pinpoint what I play and listen to is almost impossible, there's too much good music out there for me to stay in one place. However, I suppose I tend to come back to music that was released between about 1996-2006, a lot of my favorite genres really took a bad turn after that for some reason. I can really appreciate putting variety and flexibility into your selection when DJ-ing, showcasing interesting bridges between styles and genres.
My name comes from the action adventure game Alundra for PS1, where you play a dreamwalking character attempting to save the people of a village, called Inoa, by fixing things in their dreams. Meia is one of the characters, and her dream is particularly beautiful - so I felt drawn to that. The colors are all matted in the game, and its filled with a lot of melancholy and sorrow - two other things that might begin to describe my main preferences in sound."
Meia's Dream about DJ-ing:
"I don't have any studio, but I believe that a major part of DJ-ing is theoretical work and continuous crate digging, crafting set programs beforehand or just working out a particular transition between two tracks. So when I choose tracks for DJ sets, I always try my very best to keep it novel, interesting, coherent and for it to have a good flow."
