Umarmung -
Umarmung is the new full-length project by 7heads, developed over two years marked by both creative intensity and intentional stillness. The album reflects a time of transition, shaped by movement between introspection and physical expression.
Written and produced primarily in Berlin, the record carries a stronger dancefloor imprint influenced by the city’s sonic landscape, while maintaining the emotional depth and atmospheric identity that defines 7heads. The six-track structure follows a subtle narrative arc, with each piece rooted in lived experience and shared moments.
The title Umarmung translates to “embrace.” Beyond its affectionate meaning, the concept expands to embrace acceptance of change, loss, new connections, and the unfolding of reality itself. Linguistically derived from the German um (“around”) and Arm (“arm”), the word evokes the physical act of wrapping something within one’s arms a gesture of holding rather than resisting.
All tracks were written and produced in Berlin, except Karaburma, which was created during a formative period in Belgrade, where the surrounding environment left a distinct emotional imprint on the composition.
The cover artwork was interpreted by the artist’s brother, translating the emotional core of the project into visual form. Umarmung is dedicated to their father, who passed away last year a quiet thread that runs through the album’s atmosphere and intention.
Rather than presenting closure, Umarmung stands as a gesture, an offering shaped by memory, movement, and acceptance.
