When it comes to social media—LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.—I’ve noticed that portrait shots where the subject looks directly into the camera tend to be the most captivating. There’s something about eye contact that creates a stronger connection with the viewer.

Of course, side poses and candid-style shots have their place and can add creativity, but do they create the same level of engagement? I’m not so sure.

What do you think? Do you prefer portraits with direct eye contact, or do you find other styles more compelling?
