If you work in production at Stena Metall you may need to handle hazardous substances, operate heavy machinery or melting furnaces with temperatures of over 700 degrees Celsius.

That is why safety issues are high on our agenda, and involve everyone: Employees, managers, Group management and the Board of Directors.

Today is UN World Day for Safety and Health at work and we would like to highlight the importance of personal commitment through the Take-5 project. It encourages all employees to stop and think for five minutes before starting a task.

The aim is to make risk assessment a natural part of the working day. We all have five minutes. Taking them is an investment in our common safety.

285 tons of aluminium are recycled a day in Stena Aluminium's smelter. Meet Oskar Rundberg, who works as an operator and monitors the rotary melting furnaces where temperatures are up to 700 degrees Celsius.

♻️🚗Stena Recycling and Nissan give used EV batteries a new life!

Stena Recycling has entered a strategic partnership with Nissan to develop and expand the reuse of second-life electric vehicle batteries in Norway.

Used EV batteries still have substantial value, and this partnership ensures that a significant portion of battery components get a new lease on life—either as components in batteries requiring service and repair or in energy storage systems for an additional 10 to 15 years.

"This approach can extract much more value than simply breaking down the batteries into new materials and minerals," says Jon Emil Furuseth, Country Manager High Energy Batteries at Stena Recycling in Norway.
