Matilda, Jakub, Emma, and Ebba have just completed our trainee program Care for Potential. Over the course of 10 months, they have had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Stena Metall's operations, develop their leadership skills, strengthen their internal network, and work hands-on with real business challenges.
A total of 12 trainees from different countries participated in this year's program. All of them have been hired by Stena Metall and have now started their new positions.

We work with safety everyday at our recycling facilities. Working as a production worker often involves operating heavy machinery. At this recycling facility in Finland they have had no accidents in eight years thanks to their safety culture. Creating a safe workplace is everyone's job!

12 years without a single accident! That is the result of the safety work at our Stena Recycling branch in Suwałki in Poland. If you work in production you may need to handle hazardous substances or operate heavy machinery. That is why safety is high on our agenda.

Branch manager Iwona Korniluk places great emphasis on building trust and fostering strong relationships with her team and customers. Ensuring that everyone can work and feel safe at work is her top priority. The branch's impressive number of over 4,700 days without an accident exemplifies this commitment to providing a safe workplace.

"Be observant and dare to act!" ⏰

If you work in production at Stena Metall you may need to handle hazardous substances, operate heavy machinery or melting furnaces with temperatures of over 700 degrees Celsius.

That is why safety issues are high on our agenda, and involve everyone: Employees, managers, Group management and the Board of Directors.

Today is UN World Day for Safety and Health at work and we would like to highlight the importance of personal commitment through the Take-5 project. It encourages all employees to stop and think for five minutes before starting a task.

The aim is to make risk assessment a natural part of the working day. We all have five minutes. Taking them is an investment in our common safety.

285 tons of aluminium are recycled a day in Stena Aluminium's smelter. Meet Oskar Rundberg, who works as an operator and monitors the rotary melting furnaces where temperatures are up to 700 degrees Celsius.
