Hellcowboys Sign With Octopus Rising, Unleash Crushing Southern Groove Metal With “Ghiaccio”
Italian Southern groove metal outlaws Hellcowboys join the Octopus Rising family and announce their new album “Renew, Reborn, Return”, out December 11

Octopus Rising, the division of Argonauta Records dedicated to the discovery and development of uncompromising new heavy acts, is proud to announce the signing of Hellcowboys, the Italian four-piece bringing a dirty, crushing and groove-driven take on Southern metal.

Formed in 2014, Hellcowboys return with a new lineup and a musical direction that is more focused and powerful than ever. Their sound sits at the crossroads of Southern groove metal, stoner metal, sludge and classic heavy metal, combining massive guitar riffs, pounding drums, thick bass lines and a raw Southern attitude. It is heavy music built around groove and impact, with enough grit and swagger to hit hard without losing its sense of melody and dynamics.

At the helm is founding member Cris “Comaante” on vocals and guitar, now joined by Warner (Rainspawn, Mamöt) on lead guitar, Steve Russian (The Core, AGAIN – AiC tribute) on drums and backing vocals, and Val (Hellbow, Fugue) on bass.

This renewed lineup marks the beginning of a new era for Hellcowboys, and the band wastes no time making its intentions clear.

Today, Hellcowboys unveil “Ghiaccio”, the first single and official video from their upcoming third album, “Renew, Reborn, Return”. The track delivers a first taste of the band's new incarnation, driven by muscular riffs, a relentless groove and a distinctly gritty approach that places Hellcowboys firmly in the territory where Southern metal meets the darker side of stoner and sludge.

Following the recent release of their second single “Espressionismi”, ALLUME now turn the spotlight back to “La Stessa Idea”, the first track they unveiled from Ex Luto. The new official video adds a visual dimension to a song that sits at the heart of the album's emotional landscape, combining the band's heavy, atmospheric sound with a sense of tension and introspection.

Driven by weighty guitar work, hypnotic rhythms and a steadily building intensity, “La Stessa Idea” reflects the more direct and visceral approach that defines Ex Luto. Recorded almost entirely live during the summer of 2024 at Villa Ridente, Ex Luto represents a defining step in ALLUME's evolution. Much of the material was written during the suspended months of the pandemic and gradually became a cathartic journey through loss, change and transformation.

Compared to their debut O.D.E., the new album is more direct both musically and lyrically. Towering guitar walls, deep psychedelic bass textures and heavy, obsessive grooves form the backbone of a record built around raw impact, live chemistry and emotional tension.

The quintet was formed in 2022, when some of the members were still under 18, yet they were already playing with the same precision and energy as more established metal bands. Since then, the band from Falun has taken the world by storm. The combination of the members’ young age and their extremely precise and virtuosic musical skills has made XION one of the most interesting and promising newcomers on the Swedish metal scene in many years.



In January 2024, XION released their debut album “Between Shadows and Gods”, produced by Johan Reivén (RAM, HOSTILIA, among others). They performed as the support act for IN FLAMES and the GENE SIMMONS BAND at the legendary “Dalhalla Arena” and played at several festivals, including “Gefle Metal”, “Sweden Rock Festival” and the “Sabaton Cruise”. Their concerts have been highly praised. Sweden Rock Magazine rated one of their live performances 9/10, and their performance at the “Sweden Rock Festival” itself received a rating of 4/5. In 2023, the band also won the “Imagine Sweden” music competition.



In June 2025, XION released the single “Wasteland of Time”, produced by Jonas Arnberg (METHANE, DEMONICAL, among others), who is also producing the band’s upcoming studio album, “When Stars Collide”. This track also convinced Fireflash Records to offer them a record deal.

Maison Dieu Unveil “Dio Ci Vuole Nudi”; First Single From “Città Nascosta”
Ancient ritual meets crushing doom as Italian Mystic Doom trio Maison Dieu unveil “Dio ci vuole nudi”, the first single from their debut album Città Nascosta, out October 23 via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.

Opening with the hypnotic sound of the tagelharpa, an ancient Scandinavian instrument, “Dio ci vuole nudi” initially inhabits a suspended, almost dreamlike space. Then the spell breaks. Heavy guitars, visceral doom and Ester’s magnetic vocals drag the song into darker territory, where psychedelic heaviness and ritualistic folk collide.

The accompanying official video follows the same transformation, moving from sunlit landscapes, white garments and slow, almost folkloric gestures into fire, blue light, tribal markings and an increasingly intense ritual.

At its core, “Dio ci vuole nudi” is about stripping away everything artificial and returning to something primal: the earth, the body and the spiritual instinct buried beneath it all.

With influences ranging from Chelsea Wolfe, Wardruna and Nytt Land to Messa, Acid King and Black Sabbath, Maison Dieu are carving out their own peculiar corner of the doom underground.

Necessary Evil, previously known as Violet Sky, was formed in 2021 by two musicians and longtime metal enthusiasts, Cain and Violet.

From the very beginning, the project was conceived as a space for experimentation. Rather than limiting themselves to a single predefined style, Cain and Violet began exploring different sounds, atmospheres and musical approaches in search of a language that could fully represent their own vision of metal.

This process of constant evolution became one of the defining characteristics of Necessary Evil. Heavy music remains at the core of the band's identity, but their approach is driven by the desire to combine different influences and emotional landscapes, allowing each song to develop its own personality.

The band's inspiration extends far beyond music itself. Alongside influences from different artists and areas of the metal scene, Necessary Evil draws heavily from anime, cinema and television series, incorporating their imagery, storytelling and emotional intensity into the creative process.

These elements contribute to a musical universe where atmosphere and narrative are just as important as heaviness, creating songs shaped by both sonic experimentation and visual imagination.

Necessary Evil describe their sound as "a new word in metal dance music" — a collision of heavy music, electronic energy and a strong sense of rhythm designed to hit both the body and the mind.

Rather than treating metal and dance music as two separate worlds, Necessary Evil bring them together as parts of the same language. Heavy riffs, aggressive dynamics and darker atmospheres coexist with electronic textures, infectious grooves and a pulse that constantly pushes the music forward.

Italian experimentalists Hollow Bone enter the dreamworld of “Onar” with new single “Innocence”
Following the announcement of their signing with Octopus Rising, Italian experimental post-metal outfit Hollow Bone now reveal “Innocence”, the latest single taken from their upcoming second studio album, Onar, due for release on October 9, 2026 through Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records on CD and digital formats.

With Onar, Hollow Bone move deeper into the atmospheric and conceptual side of their sound, presenting an album shaped around dreams, transformation and spirituality. The title comes from the Greek word ὄναρ (ónar), meaning dream or vision, a concept that lies at the very heart of the record.

For Hollow Bone, dreaming is not approached as an abstract or purely symbolic idea, but as a profound human experience capable of offering direction, revealing perspectives and inspiring a deeper sense of humility and respect. The connection is particularly personal, as each of the album's compositions originated from a dream experienced by the band, giving the record a distinctive conceptual thread that runs through all seven tracks.

Musically, Onar continues to develop Hollow Bone's distinctive combination of post-metal, electronics and downtempo influences, with complex layers and carefully constructed atmospheres shaping an album intended to be experienced as a whole. Rather than presenting seven isolated songs, the record has been conceived as a continuous piece, with the tracks flowing into one another and creating a single evolving sonic landscape.

The voice also occupies an unusual position within this framework. Used primarily as a sonic element rather than a conventional vehicle for narrative, it becomes part of the album's wider textural architecture, reinforcing its introspective and imaginative character.

The world of Onar extends beyond sound alone. The album's visual dimension has been developed through collaborations with artists Kurokawa Toru and Andrea Baldelli, together with graphic designer Francesca Papasodaro, adding another layer to a project conceived as a unified artistic work.

"Midnight Avenue" is showcasing the band’s entire arsenal! The level of energy here is phenomenal, the upbeat nature too, the Finnish Heavy rocker ending their debut full-length effort very much on a high, and with the most sing a long-able chorus to boot!

Guitarist Juri Vuortama reveals that the song is about a scary real-life incident that happened to him in Paris one night: "I came across the filming location of one of my favorite movies, Roman Polanski's The Ninth Gate, on Île Saint-Louis alongside the Seine river, and wanted to have a photo taken of me standing on the same stairs where one weird scene in that film took place.
Three photos were taken but only in the middle one someone or something is sitting behind me. It's a really scary figure, and to this day I have not found out what it was. That's the "Evil rendez-vouz" in the song..."
